I've wanted a light that I could focus, and although not being familiar with this brand, I thought I would try a couple of these little fellas out. I also ordered the focusing focal spot attachment. Very nice little unit. I have a couple of the Lowell Pro lights, and I do like the large adjustment knobs, both for the intensity adjustment, and the positioning adjustments. This is where I do find a bit of difficulty with these little Peppers. The focal knob that changes the spot size, sometimes has a mind of its own. But the most frustrating thing is the housing adjusting knobs. There are two of them and when I get enough tension to keep the housing from flopping down, it is difficult to make minor adjustments when positioning the light. Considering the price (and small size) I am going to "live-with-it".

Comments about LTM Pepper 100W Fresnel:

I owned a couple of Peppers and I've rented countless of them lighting Hollywood movies. They are the smallest fresnel light made, and can also take a 200 watt globe which puts out an amazing amount of light. For photo work you'd want two double scrims (wire screens, each of which reduces output by one stop), one single scrim to reduce half a stop, a half single and a half double scrim to reduce output from any one side of the lamp, 4 way barn doors, and maybe a snoot set (narrows output down into a softly defined pool). Peppers are built like little tanks and made to take abuse and keep working. Having looked at many reading lamps, I've decided the 100w Pepper is the best that money can buy. I'll mount it either on a wall or on a brand-new century (grip) stand with articulated arm so I can boom it out. For video, with either a battery belt or plugged into the wall, you can attach it to camera and it makes a nice 'obie' light.

      excellent little light

Comments about LTM Pepper 100W Fresnel:

Got two of these to fill out my altman swing pac - work great and don't run any hotter than arri's or mole's of the same wattage. Focus gets a bit stiff when hot but a little high temp grease is never a bad idea.

Comments about LTM Pepper 100W Fresnel:

The best thing about this light is that you can tilt up or down to a greater degree than the ARRI 150.
It will also take a up to a 200 watt globe.
The Arri 150 is built better, but more expensive, it doesn't tilt as much...Which to me is important and useful.
The AC cable WILL either melt or become loose with use.
This will have to be replaced or repaired in time, depending on use usually a couple of years.
Why won't LTM fix this? It's been the same for 20 years...
      But I still buy them!

It is a sturdy little light with just enough light to get the highlights of the hair or to splash a little light on the background. Be careful though it gets really hot.
