Comments about Roland KD-7 - Kick Drum Trigger Pad and Beater Unit:
Great unit. I purchased this for my Roland HPD-10, and it's perfect. A bit bigger than I expected, but still easy to carry around, and great sensitivity. What's not so great? Now I need another kick pedal, as it isn't practical to keep moving between my real kick and this, and the beater heads are different. Oh well, worth every penny, and B&H was the greatest to work with!

Comments about Roland KD-7 - Kick Drum Trigger Pad and Beater Unit:
I've used an S&S Industries kick trigger with my DW5000 since 1996. The KD-7 was very easy to attach to my DW Pedal, plays just like my S&S, has wonderful sensitivity and sounds great with my TD-5 brain.

Comments about Roland KD-7 - Kick Drum Trigger Pad and Beater Unit:
The only Roland trigger pad that was developed in the early 90's and still being sold today - and for good reason. The rock solid design, the impeccable tracking, and feel just can't be beat - even 20 years later. Leave it to B&H to sell it at price point others can't even touch.

Comments about Roland KD-7 - Kick Drum Trigger Pad and Beater Unit:
I'm no musician, just starting to learn the drums. I bought this to go with my Yamaha DD65 portable drum set, which I bring with me when I travel. The DD65 comes with tiny little foot switch which doesn't replicate a traditional foot pedal at all. A standard Kick Drum pad is nearly as big as the whole DD65! This was the perfect substitute. It's compact and works with a standard pedal. It comes with a custom beater. I can't judge the sound from my DD65, but this was a perfect match for it when practicing while traveling.

Comments about Roland KD-7 - Kick Drum Trigger Pad and Beater Unit:
you're not going to win any style points by using this, and if you're in a room above someone (apartment complex, etc), the down-firing beater transmits directly into the floor, so you may want to avoid this. Beyond that, however, it works perfectly fine, and doesn't take up much space. This is my second KD7, the first of which stopped responding to "soft" hits after about 3 years of abuse (5+ days a week, 2-4 hours a day, on average). I imagine I could've gotten away cheaper w/ a piezo replacement, but I figured I'd order a new one and try to fix the old one "eventually".
Anyhow... works great.
