Excellent for acoustic and electric instruments as well as for vocals, the extremely versatile Shure Beta 57A Microphone is a dynamic microphone that provides optimal warmth and presence. The Beta 57A is appropriate for drums, guitars, vocals, and horns, giving true studio-quality sound.
The Beta 57A maintains a true supercardioid pattern throughout its frequency range, ensuring high gain before feedback, maximum isolation from other sound sources, and minimal off-axis tone coloration. Its neodymium magnet achieves a high signal/noise ratio, and a completely new hardened steel mesh grill design lets you take better advantage of proximity effect. The grill resists wear and endures abuse, too. The Beta 57A is an exceptionally versatile microphone, packaged in an advanced pneumatic shock mount.

Comments about Shure Beta 57A Microphone:
I use the Beta 57 to amplify voices for a public board of education at remote meetings around the district. The mics' supercardioid pickup pattern provides excellent volume before feedback. It is a solid all-around performer that also sounds very good on recorded music performances.

Comments about Shure Beta 57A Microphone:
This mic is good for recording electric guitars and drums. It's also good for vocal performances at clubs (I know several singers who bring their own to performances rather than using the club's equipment).

Comments about Shure Beta 57A Microphone:
I bought this mic yesterday from a local music shop after comparing it to the sm57, sm58, and a cheap audio tech. mic. The Shure beta 57a had the fullness of the sm57 and 58 but also added a little more detail in the high end that I was looking for. Another good all purpose mic for me.
