A speed ring is required but not included with this unit. Please be sure to purchase an appropriate speed ring for the light you are using.
The Small PRO II Softbox is designed for use with a strobe. With fabric not intended for the heat of a continuous light, the PRO II comes standard with a white interior and a flush front face. It is quick to set up and break down. The flush mounted front face provides a wider spread of light than a box with a recessed front.
The PRO II is an excellent choice for the photographer concerned about setup time. It's sewn in front face allows it to be set up in less than 30 seconds.

Comments about Chimera Pro II Softbox for Flash Only - Small:
Assembles nicely. I have four 36' x 48" x 24" boxes. All stiching is durable, but all Chimera boxes that I own have rotted away - meaning that the white laminated interiors have become sticky and flaky, discoloring the front diffusion panels to a root beer brown color. I have other brands, that are older, but they have not rotted away. Chimera does not sell replacement material for the boxes, only complete new soft boxes. I wonder if these will rot away too, or is this time to choose another brand. Buyer beware.

Comments about Chimera Pro II Softbox for Flash Only - Small:
This is big softbox for a strobe. Material is solid. The most difficult thing for me is folding it back up into it's original shape. It's like trying to fold a road map. Also struggled a little to get it set up.

Comments about Chimera Pro II Softbox for Flash Only - Small:
It replaced one I've been using for almost 25 years, mostly for portraits, the 2 feet by 3 feet size. The new one fits my old speedring perfect. It's a speedring with a standard shoe mount that I use with a Vivitar 285, 'works great. The old softbox had yellowed with age and was affecting the color balance. In a camera store I tried a generic softbox that was cheaper but I could barely get the metal poles placed in the ring and once I got it together and it was real difficult to disassemble, and it seemed pretty cheap overall. Chimera is the way to go. If I can get over 20 years out of this one it'll be great, I don't know how often I'll be using it my 70's, but I hope I still will be! -Charlie Neuman

After 18 years and hundreds of events, I appreciate the construction of this product and the easy install. Setting up fast reduces stress and this well constructed product will continue to perform long after other similar products start deteriorating. the light quality is outstanding and includes multiple diffusing clothes and a soft case.
