Comments about Porta Brace HIP-4 Hip Pack for Mini DV Camcorder Kits (X-Large, Signature Blue):
This case has many nice features but one missing one. A secure system to prevent the strap ends from slipping out. This happened when I was in an airport standing in a queue and the HVR-A1U screen got damaged - it was only a one meter fall and I had to modify the strap ends wto prevent them from slipping out of the buckle.
The straps ends should be designed better. My solution was to pop-rivet the ends together past the buckle and that keeps the ends from slipping out and giving a nasty surprise fall.
Aside from this, the bag is really a little too small for the HVR-A1U - esp when you carry along the audio module. Nice to have the zip top for hard drive, cables and tapes and the pockets are located and proprtioned correctly.
Don't know what to do with the Drink holder thingie on the belt. It's clumsy and not useful to me.
