Comments about Bushnell 10x25 Powerview Binocular (Black):

For less than $, you can have compact pair of binos that are small enough to always have with you. Although limited in optical quality, they are MUCH better than nothing at all. Disadvantages for me are: 1) no lens caps 2) piano wire neck strap 3) diopter adjustment is just barely able to adjust enough for me and my eyes are quite close. In fact, this must be a model defect. Had I bought these at an actual store, I would have tried a different pair. With an object lens of 25mm, they are not good at low light conditions. The pros/cons I have chosen are relative for its price.

Comments about Bushnell 10x25 Powerview Binocular (Black):

These are good - not great - binoculars. But at this price point, they are a terrific value.

GOOD: They are very usable, serviceable binos. Peripheral distortion is minimal, good light transmission, minimal color shift, fairly easily focused. Their light weight and compact form factor make them easily carried. Good carry case with belt loop. (There's no shoulder strap on the case, but the unit is so small, I wouldn't want one.)

BAD: At 9 mm, the eye relief is on the low end. Their small size and light weight make them more difficult to hold steady relative to full size, heavy binos.

PRICE: They don't allow actual dollar figures in these reviews, so let's see if I can put it this way. These binos cost less than a delivery pizza. And I find that pretty amazing.

I also own the Bushnell 10x42 Legend HD Binocular, and obviously these are not nearly as good as those. But given that these are a fraction of the HD's weight/bulk and especially that they're a tiny fraction of the HD's price, these little guys are well worth having.

Bottom Line: Combining this unit's very small price and that they are good, very usable binos, I am very happy with them. I will carry them in my daily go bag on a just-in-case-I-want-binos basis, and not have to baby them -- if they get lost or broken, replacing them would be painless and a no-brainer. I recommend them.

P.S. I struggled between 4 and 5 stars rating. They do have shortcomings, but it would be impossible not to at this price point. The price-to-performance ratio is so shockingly good, I decided on 5 stars.
