Comments about SpotPen Retouching Pen Set (Warm Tone) for B&W - Set of 10:

I typically used spot tone color and fine artists brush in the day. I had some older silver prints to spot and thought I would give these a try. They work really well and color is spot on, so to speak.

I bought these for a college level b&w photo 1 course. They were very handy, and reasonably easy to use. Like anything else in photography, patience is a virtue! Just layer on accordingly, start out light, and build up the color.

Great set to spot black and white prints, forgiving of mistakes. Air dries, or you can use a blow drier on the gentle heat setting to speed drying up. A big improvement over the old fashioned method. So easy to use and nothing to clean up!

I use these to retouch Ilford MG Fiber Warmtone prints in both semi-matte and glossy. The pens are convenient, easy to use, with perfect tones. Spotting is a skill which requires practice, and these pens do not necessarily make it easier, but once you've acquired the skill these pens make it faster, neater, more orderly.

With practice these pens minimize spots on prints on current warmtome papers very well. It is easy imagine that you need to use a pen that is too dark if you haven't used these before. Good idea to practice on a test print and let it dry. The tip on these pens is small enough to make a tiny dot on the paper. The results hold up well over time and tolerate dry mounting with heat applied.

After trying regular black and white spotting pens on warmtone papers, I moved to this set-SpotPen Retouching Pen Set (Warm Tone) for Black & White Prints - Set of 10 by SpotPen. The regular pens just did not work for me on Ilford warmtone paper. These pens are nearly perfect and easier to use than brushes.

I used these pens to spot tone Ilford Warmtone Semi-matte Fiber Based prints, and it did an amazing job. The wide range of values allowed me to perfectly match up the spot. The tip of the pen is very fine, so I could get even the smallest little dust marks. Plus, if I incorrectly chose a tone, I could immediately wipe it away before it soaked into the paper. Very smart purchase!

I am a college student and needed a simple way to do spot retouching, I first tried Touchrite but it had too much of a purple tone and would not match the prints. These also are easier to handle than a 000 brush. I also purchased the cool tone pack as well but don't notice much of a difference between the two packs.

Beats mixing liquids and trying to match them to your photos. The tips are fine to hit those extra small areas they are really a great addition to any darkroom.
