This is a Photoflex Nylon Fabric Grid for the Large (36 x 48") Softbox. This grid limits the light spread from your softbox to 40°. It fastens to the recessed front of the softbox via touch fasteners.
Grids are essential accessories for any lighting system. A grid alters the shape and intensity of the light output from your softbox when it is mounted on a light head. Consider a grid as a painter would a brush, or a sculptor would a knife, or chisel.

Comments about Photoflex Nylon Fabric Grid for Large (36 x 48") Softbox:
Although still expensive, this item is much less that the Chimera version. Still seems to be well made (as much as a thin nylon grid can be) and fits my Chimera medium (Photoflex large) softbox very well. I wish the fabric trim on the case it came in wasn't so susceptible to being caught and snagged on the velcro though. No biggie.

Not as perfectly made as the Chimera version, but plenty good for day to day use.

Comments about Photoflex Nylon Fabric Grid for Large (36 x 48") Softbox:
I've had this item for a few weeks now and have done some lighting tests to get more familar with this egg crate's specific 40° light modification. The quality in workmaniship is great and it fits perfectly on my Westcott 36" x 48" softbox (for hot lights up to 1,000 watts).
Great value for the price with zero downside considering there are far more expensive ones out there. This egg crate/grid does a beauitful job at softening a softbox's light even further without back spill on backgrounds.
HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Comments about Photoflex Nylon Fabric Grid for Large (36 x 48") Softbox:
I purchased two grids at the same time I purchased two additional soft boxes. They are great at providing a more directional light. I highly recommend the grids for studio work.

Comments about Photoflex Nylon Fabric Grid for Large (36 x 48") Softbox:
The Photoflex fabric grid gets the job done at a great price. It's a little flimsy compared to the Profoto ($700) but an overall good product. I would definitely recommend it to anyone needed a soft grid.

Comments about Photoflex Nylon Fabric Grid for Large (36 x 48") Softbox:
I use this on a cinedome from photoflex - seems almost identical to the Light Tools 40-degree grid for the Medium Chimera. Not as much quality in the construction but the price difference more than makes up for it. I can't tell in difference in performance - and I love Chimera and Light Tool products.

Comments about Photoflex Nylon Fabric Grid for Large (36 x 48") Softbox:
I bought this grid to use with Chimera Medium Super Pro Plus softbox. The grid is a tiny bit too small which makes the softbox bend in a small amount, but this is actually a good thing since the grid has a good tension and there is no sag in either vertical or horizontal position.
And given the price it is a bargain compared to a Chimera grid. No complaints about the quality, seems like it will last. Also folds nicely small into the pouch that comes with it.

Great for controlling your softbox. Reduces light spilling out where you don't want it. These are much less expensive than other brands, and they work fine.

I was looking for a modifier to control the light in a small area. The grid directed

Comments about Photoflex Nylon Fabric Grid for Large (36 x 48") Softbox:
I purchased this grid to work with my Profoto 3x4 softbox -- what a savings in dollars over the Profoto version. However, it doesn't quite fit the Profoto softbox -- a bit too small. I fixed that with some velcro purchased at a local fabric store.

Comments about Photoflex Nylon Fabric Grid for Large (36 x 48") Softbox:
Installs easily with the velcro strips. Makes the softbox more directional, keeping spill off the background giving you much more control. Makes lighting the background, especially with gels, much easier.
