Comments about Neumann PS30 6" Pop Filter w/Gooseneck:

I have a Stedman Pop filter but I didn't think it was doing a great job, so I thought I would try this Neumann and if it was better; sell the Stedman.

Both are on the expensive side of pop filters. Well, the Neumann clamp wouldn't hold on my mic stand. The part of the stand the Neumann pop filter needed to screw on was too small, apparently, for the attachment device. The Neumann pop filter is a bit on the heavy side and the clamp is a little on the weak side.

Since it wasn't going to work, I knew I was going to have to send it back to B&H. But before I did, I recorded a few plosives holding the Nuemann in front of the mic. As it turns out, there was no difference in plosive stopping between the Nuemann and the Stedman whatsoever.

Also, I noticed that when I ran the plosive test through room correction software before the speakers, the popping "P"s disappeared. So, my room was artificially enhancing the low end enough to give me "false plosives!"

So, the Stedman was doing the job all along, has a much better clamp system and is lighter in construction. Go with the Stedman.

B&H took back the Neumann with no problems. Always great customer service.

This pop filter is awesome! Solid construction, easy to place and eliminates those plosives that make every VO Actor, recording engineer or singer nuts. You won't go wrong purchasing a Neumann PS30 Pop Filter. Count me as a happy camper.

Comments about Neumann PS30 6" Pop Filter w/Gooseneck:

You could by a cheaper pop filter, but our microphones are the cream of the crop and we're proud to have them, they're a selling point, and so why not have the Neumann pop filter, too; it's a no brainer. Of course, it's quality all the way and works exactly as you would expect it to work, perfectly.
