Product Highlights
  • 75mm/3"
  • Wide Angle

The baltic birch 4 x 5" Pinhole Camera from Lensless features a 3" lens. Lensless Cameras are constructed of different woods. Each model has a tiny hole (1/64" or smaller) precisely drilled in the front panel. The shutter is simply a small hinged metal plate that the photographer swings up and down to begin and end the exposure. The imitated focal length is determined by the length of the camera. The format is determined by the size of the back of the camera, which accepts the film holder. Since it is designed to accept a sheet film holder, there is no need to load the camera in the dark.

This is a baltic birch, 4 x 5" Pinhole Camera, with a focal length equivalent of 75mm, which is a wide angle lens for this format. Average exposure in bright, noon-day sun is 4 seconds, using 400 ISO film.

Comments about Lensless 4 x 5" Pinhole Camera (Baltic Birch):

Prior to this camera, I bought the another brand 45 pinhole camera that proved to be a disappointment. When I opened the box on this LENSLESS CAMERA MFG pinhole camera, I was struck by how brilliant the design is of this camera - yet it is almost stone-age technology. I ran out and shot 4 images right away, ran home and processed and scanned the images. The images are fantastic and the angle of view is ideal.

The manual is limited, they could have spent a few more minutes explaining for beginners.

OVERALL I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CAMERA FOR PINHOLE!

Comments about Lensless 4 x 5" Pinhole Camera (Baltic Birch):

bought this camera to start a new project and chose it mainly because it looked sturdy, had 2 tripod mounts (bottom and side), and it took 4x5 holders. so far it has performed wonderfully and has taken great pictures. the shudder is easy to move, but stiff enough to stay in place when open and the adaptable back is really easy to use with the holders or putting the film directly in. its constructed well, a little smelly from the stain, but that disappeared in a day or two, plus it looks really good while in use and sitting on the shelf next to all my other cameras.

Comments about Lensless 4 x 5" Pinhole Camera (Baltic Birch):

This pinhole camera has a nice, simple design, is well made and takes sharp photos. It's sturdy, light and easy to use. Film backs fit easily into the back of the camera and are held in place securely with wood rollers. There have been no issues with light leaks. The camera comes with very little in the way of instructions or technical information, though, you can find more info on the company website.
