Comments about RedWing Standard Boom Assembly:
I have several manfrotto and matthews booms and stands. I added this one to the kit for more control at placing a high light.
It's an excellent boom. Minor issues - it's expensive and wish it came with a location bag. Doesn't stop be recommending it!

Comments about RedWing Standard Boom Assembly:
So much better than a regular boom. Balances fast and easy ... locking in place is not necessary. No more ladder climbing to change the output/angle of your strobe on the boom ... just pull the light down to you, readjust, and raise it back up. With proper adapters, you can mount a camera to the end of it for overhead shots ... the angle of the camera to the subject stays the same when changing the angle of the boom.
Build quality is top notch ... as one reviewer said already, it will probably last your entire life.
The description doesn't mention this, but an 18" extension arm is included.

Wish it had a locking system, but has worked exactly as I had hoped it would.
