XP2 Super is a sharp, fast, fine grain black and white film. It can be used for any photographic subject, but ensures excellent results when there is a wide subject brightness range. XP2 Super has improved exposure latitude compared with XP2, and gives exceptionally sharp, crisp prints. The excellent highlights and improved shadows of XP2 Super give enhanced negative contrast for optimum black and white print quality.

Easy to expose, and has extremely wide exposure latitude
Easy to process; It is a black and white film which is processed in C-41 type processing chemicals
Easy to print; Negatives are printed on black and white paper in the same way as conventional black and white negatives
XP2 Super is a chromogenic film; This means that the dyes which make up the image are formed during development rather than being present in the film or added later
The extremely wide exposure latitude of XP2 Super is the result of the unique relationship between exposure and grain in chromogenic films
Type 35mm black and white chromogenic film
Speed ISO 400
Applications General photography but ensures excellent results when there is a wide subject brightness range
Process Procees in C-41
Color Saturation Not applicable
Grain Extremely fine
Sharpness Very high
Exposure Latitude Wide
Push/Pull Can be rated at EI 50-800

I got this film just to see how a Chromogenic B&W film would develop and I must say if you use a C-41 workflow and you are in the mood for B&W this is a viable option. This film will give you a very standard looking B&W image with no surprises.

    OK for testing a camera

This film is ok to test a film camera, but when it gets processed by the C-41 processor it turns bright pink. This could be the processing machine, too.

No need for specialised labs. C-41 processing makes it so convenient and the look of the photos is amazing

I have created some wonderful works with this film. Everything from studio to snowy landscapes. If you are looking for film in which you can achieve an amazingly sharp/crisp look... buy this one. I highly recommend it.

Easy to get developed quickly at the corner store and scans very well. There is a bit of color haze too that I like.
