This looks like a good piece of equipment, but the locking mechanism for the tilt does not hold, even when you put extreme pressure on the knob. I had to re-tighten the knob a number of times, because it came loose and allowed the umbrella and flash to tilt all the way forward. I'm afraid if I tighten the knob very hard it will strip the threads. Basically junk!

While the design and castings are solid, the tolerances are too loose and the included hardware (bolts, handle, screws, friction-plates (which is double stick tape, fergawd sakes)) are not made well enough to function properly. I spent some time and money at Ace. If I hadn't scratched it trying to make it work... I'd have sent it back.

This could be a great product with minor changes(Delta are you listening?)I purchased two of these products for mounting 430ex flashes on light stands that are used in weddings.The lower part of the bracket needs "2" screws instead of "1" so it will stay secured and they need to be offset for a tight fit!Also,the tilt release lever is very difficult to operate.

I have to agree with the previous reviewer. This is junk. Very difficult to tilt and loosen the knobs.
