Had this bag for years .Made in USA of quality materials. Here's what mine usually holds... In the main compartment it usually carries a 100-400L , Sigma 12-24 , Canon 5D with 24-105, and a 3 filter pouch .One outer pocket holds Nikon 8x42 binoculars and the other a 430EX flash and ball blower. Front pocket holds microfiber lens cloth and spare lens/body caps and G7 point and shoot , Under top compartment for chargers ,spare batteries and memory . Maps/notebook in back pocket.
total weight with all this stuff around 17 lbs. Reasonably water resistant , but don't leave it out overnite in a monsoon.

Good quality canvas.Adecuate size for my Nikon D300 and easy access.
What I did not like, is is the flap design. When closed and carried, by either the shoulder strap or the additional hand strap, the top sides of the cover move to the center, exposing the bag interior to rain and dust. The to cover design shoud be reviewed.

Comments about F-4AF Pro System Bag (Black):

I generally love Domke bags. I have two F-3x and use them as my primary camera bags.

I wanted to get a bag that would hold my D750 with a Nikkor 24-70mm AF-S lens attached. While that combo can be made to fit, it's a little hard to get it in and out. The top of the body (or lens depending on which way you put it in) come right to the top of the padding. Also, the lens compartment is really for smaller lenses for flashes, try to put a bigger lens in one side and it gets tight quickly.

I also don't like how much more rigid the padded inserts make this bag. I think in time it would soften up. In my F-3X I used a Domke wrap to make a sort of holster to provide light padding from the sides for a DSLR with lense attached, but the back was still nice and flexible.

However, this would be a great bag for a DX kit or an FX kit with smaller lenses. I love the big side flap pockets on the F-3x and F-4, great for all sorts of things, photography or otherwise..and accessible without opening the whole bag.

I ended up returning this bag, good bag, just not right for my specific purpose.

Comments about F-4AF Pro System Bag (Sand):

My husband loves this camera bag. He added some additional dividers from another camera bag he had to stack lenses. The Domke F-4AF will hold a Pentax K-5II, D-BG4, DA 21, DA 40, DA 70, AF-360FGZ and one additional lens (DA 15 or DFA 100). This bag easily holds a camera with prime lens, 3 additional primes and a flash + filters and accessories.

Domke F-4AF camera bag.....I was looking for a Camera Bag that was able to hold my Nikon D600,Tamron 24-70mm (attached), Nikon 70-200mm f4, and Nikon 85mm 1.8GGlass and I found it in the Domke F-4AF Camera Bag plus I could add my Nikon flash SB700 in one of the side pockets and still have room for extra an battery and battery charger, large Blower, and more....for a bonus if I had to I could bring one more Lens with me my Nikon 60mm Micro (just put it on top of my 85mm lens with a pad between them) The Materials is top notch that made this bag (heavy duty and it will protect your equipment but soft enough to comform to your body when carrying it) I know there is no perfect bag but this bag comes close to it. I would suggest you get the Mail Shourder Pad (FA-031) when you order this Bag. This bag is great for daily usage when you want don't want to bring the Kitchen Sink.

Comments about F-4AF Pro System Bag (Black):

I'm a big fan of the Domke canvas bags. This is my third Domke canvas bag and I like it as much as the others (an F-2 and an F-3x.) I use it to contain and carry a Pentax K-5 body with one zoom and 3 prime lenses plus the usual extras like memory devices and spare batteries. It all fits and I can access what I need easily. The bag is well constructed and tough, is padded enough to do the job without being too heavy, and is still small enough to not be a burden when carried. I chose this bag, rather than another F-3x, for its squarer outline.

Comments about F-4AF Pro System Bag (Olive):

I ordered this bag to hold a Pentax 67 with lens, plus a second 67 lens, meter and film. The features and quality of the bag were outstanding. The bag is much larger than I anticipated, and could hold a lot of gear. In addition to the above equipment I found it could carry a Mamiya 6 with collapsed lens in the main compartment and still have the two empty side pockets and lots of room left in the unpadded front pocket. The top flap seemed to work well for me, and seemed like it would keep out light rain and dirt. You'll want a shoulder pad if this bag is loaded.

Still not sure if I like the newer style of inserts, with the grey fabric, instead of the older nylon. I like that they are not so bulky and can use adjustable dividers, but also felt like were more prone to gathering dust and debris.

Still this is a rugged bag that will last.

My primary camera bag, nice color. Never judge by its size. Is a hungry bag! Carry a body, Nikon 50, 105, 70-200, LX3, couple of accessories and still have space. 70-200 fix in nicely. Even with camera mounted, cover can still be closed but with slight protrude. Not an issue really.

What I really like about this bag is the fact that it is so comfortable carrying it. Excellent strap! For a long day, sling it over your shoulder. Really good for travel if you don't want to bring a huge bag with all your lens.

I might just get additional padding soon. It is versatile.

Comments about F-4AF Pro System Bag (Black):

I started using a Domke F-1 with my F3HPs years ago. Held 2-3 bodies and 5 lenses with film. When I got a D90 and a new set of lenses, I used the F-1, but it just didn't quite fit right. The newer lenses were longer and fatter and I didn't need room for film, etc. I finally tried the F-4AF and am extremely satisfied.

All the factors I've always liked about Domke bags are still there - light, soft/collapsible, great strap and good materials and workmanship. Plus the bag is just a bit taller for the longer lenses and the spaces are a bit bigger. The result is a great bag for my D7000 and 16-85 with room for 70-300VR, 10-24, 10.5/2.8 and either the 60/2.8G or 105/2.8VR macro. I can substitute the 300/4 AF-S or 200/4 macro for the 70-300 as conditions require. I don't really need the additional pockets, but they can be handy at times and crush down when not filled.

I have to admit, I'm a real bag person. I have more bags than lenses, and I have a lot of lenses. Not that I cart them all around! I keep trying to find something better than this humble Domke bag, but there is nothing.

                          In the bag right now:
D700 with 50mm f/1.4 attached--I'm just playing with my 50, what a sweet little lens.
                          24mm f/1.4
                          85mm f/1.4
Shoved down the sides within the bag--inside the bag, but OUTSIDE of the inserts (I love these spaces!):
Camera cable, ear buds, batteries, business cards, filters, CF cards, and other odds and ends.

                          Back pocket: iPhone!
Front pocket: miscellany--not much really--sometimes I put my lens cap in there while shooting. I did just order a beanbag--that may populate that pocket soon. I'll have to evaluate the weight that that adds.

                          Side pockets:
I carry the bag on my right shoulder. I need fast access to TWO things: my keys (which contain my gym card that I have to slide through a little reader to get into my spin class a few times a week, so I need it FAST.) My wallet, which I also need to whip out quickly at Starbucks (to pull out my Gold Card). So those two things are in the pocket toward the front of my hip. I keep that pocket very uncluttered--just those gym/office access keys and my wallet.

In the other side pocket: Advil, two kinds of sunblock, a proxy brush for my teeth, 3 kinds of lip balm, my CAR key (I have a keyless Prius, so the car only has to sense the key--I almost never need to put my hands on the key) and a cute little container that holds a limited amount of change. So while the barista is pouring my bold roast, I reach back and flip open the pocket and without even really looking I can find that little container with the change (you know, for the tip.)

So that is my daily carry around kit.

Sometimes I like to haul the 70-200 f/2.8 VR II, and guess what? It fits! I mean, even with the other stuff. I can stack two small lenses in one slot, and the telephoto zoom in the other. OR, I can bring the 105 micro with my daily kit. OR, I can bring the 135 DC with my daily kit. OR I can carry the D700, 14-24 and 70-200 and 50. Really, I can carry different configurations with this bag.

And not incidentally, this bag PREVENTS me from carrying everything at once. Which for me, is very useful.

This bag ROCKS. At least for my life situation. (Oh, I did already have that postal shoulder thingy from an earlier Domke bag--so I use that too.)

If it's not clear--I LOVE the pockets. And I love the extra space around and between the padding.

One more thing: this bag shapes itself to you. The canvas makes it hug you and stick a little--this is very nice. It's not bouncing all over the place.

For once a bag that easily holds what the manufacturer claims. How often do you read holds DSLR and 3 or 4 extra lenses and flash. Yeah, right as long as it's 4 50mm primes. This comfortably holds DSLR with 18-200 attached, plus 2 large zooms and you still have the deep side pockets to fill up. Usual Domke canvas quality. For comfort, buy the Domke shoulder pad to go with it. Only minor criticism is Velcro fastening should be on all sides of the inserts.

This is a good bag with a nice look. Maybe a bit to small for my gear. (D700). I can fit the camera, an extra lens and maybe a flash. But hey. It's so good looking so somethings you just have to learn to live with.

Comments about F-4AF Pro System Bag (Sand):

This bag is perfect for a days shoot. I carried a D700 w/grip, and at 17-35m f/2.8 lens attached. In the inserts, you can carry two items. I had the 24-70 f/2.8 lens and a 50m f/1.4. I placed a SB900 in one of the side pockets. Rear pocket allows for cords, cards, batteries etc.

It is actually half the size of the "F1X A Little bit bigger bag". So when you need just a few items to grab and go, this bag fits the bill. Perfect for a bag to always have a camera handy.

Gripper shoulder strap is nice and doesn't slip. You can't put too much in the bag so it doesn't get overly heavy. It will not carry any large lenses, but it isn't designed to do so.

I always ask buyers of products I'm interested in if they would purchase the product again. I would definitely buy this again. No regrets.

Comments about F-4AF Pro System Bag (Sand):

I had (actually still have and now honorably retired) a Domke F3X which served faithfully over 20 years thru many rough destination here and abroad. New camera and lenses are a bit bigger and hard to fit in the old bag, but the F4AF is great...essentially the same bag, but big enough to hold my D700 and 3 zooms plus extraneous stuff. It looks like it will also hold up 20 years
