Just to have those extra minutes, makes a difference; in savings from having to utilize another tape, just to stretch the footage. This is where quantiy and quality meet.

The tape is used for a specialized situation- to record witness testimony in a deposition.
What's great about the tape is it's low price, it's small and light and easy to make copies to DVD-R if necessary.

I use this tape to shoot live music videos. I use these at the standard speed, I've never experimented with slower speed shooting for fear of missing some action I needed. These tapes have never let me down.

I've used Panasonic 60- and 80- minute mini-DV cassettes with Canon XL series SD camcorders and have never experienced any problems with video or audio quality.
Very good performance for the price!

Comments about Panasonic AY-DVM80EJ Mini DV Cassette (80 Minutes):
Anyone shooting in SP mode on DV tapes knows that 60 minutes isn't truly enough for some events, so this 80 minute tape does the trick for those extra long events especially ones at anime conventions. No drop outs, no problems what so ever.

Used with Panasonic DDVX100B Camera.
Never had any issues with one time use with the Panasonic DVC 80 minute tapes. No drop outs unless the camera heads were dirty.
Tapes will hopefully be a bygone age, but for those like myself who still use them, these are great for use in Panasonic Cameras.
Don't Mix Sony Tapes with Panasonic cameras or reverse, as they use different emulsion process.

I was hired to record a two night electro-acoustic music performance at a local university. I was told the concert would last a little over an hour. Really? What would I do with my regular 60-minute mini DV tapes? Well they do make an 80 minute tape that sells at B&H Photo Video. Well I went ahead and bought four just in case and they worked amazing. Thanks B&H for being so great!
