This is an Elinchrom Pro 33" Translucent Umbrella . Umbrellas soften, broaden, and diminish the light output of any tungsten or flash light source. Umbrellas with a white interior will soften and weaken light more than an umbrella with a silver lining. A white umbrella without a black backing may also be used as a makeshift softbox, although the use of the light will not be as efficient as with a lightbox.
Choosing umbrella size is determined by the size of the subject, and the strength of the light supply being used. Choosing an umbrella surface is as subjective as choosing a paint and brush.
The material is neutral and allows about 50% transmission.

I used a pair of these umbrellas with a pair of 105cm Elinchrom umbrellas as shoot throughs for a headshot session. used 3 Nikon SB-910 and one Nikon SB-700. Worked out great. I used two manfrotto stands and four Lumahawk umbrella mounts. With a superclamp and mini extension arm on each stand I was able to use four umbrellas.

I own about a dozzen or more umberellas. After switching to Elinchrom I found myself needing a 6mm shaft. Bummer that elinchrom doesnt jump on board with the majority of other shafts. Anyhow I wondered why this umberella would be listed as a pro version. I mean hey, its just an umberella! This umberella is the sleekest, sexiest umberella I have ever seen. From the material to its sleek colapsed size this umberella certainly deserves to be classified as pro level! Its like I just made my first victoria secret purchase after shoping years in the discount section at the dollar store :)
