This is a great bag! I originally order the Pro 12, but i think i have suitcases smaller than that thing! If you have an arsenal of lenses and bodies, then go with the Pro 12. If not, Pro 8 is the way to go! Not only does it look good, it is VERY functional without being overly large to take with you to places. I have one body with 28-135, 28-300 and 24-70 and have room for the lens hoods and maybe a lens or 2 more. It's very comfortable and lets me leave the 28-300 attached OR leave the 24-70/28-135 attached if i need to as well! I love it!

Two digial cameras with battery grips is very tight fit. Great for transport with nice amout of pockets. The flap that covers the zipper for the main compartment works for protection but if you need to have access, such as changing lens etc it gets in the way. When I use it I have to tuck this flap under the handle. Plenty of options because of the removable foam dividers

I have a small bag and a large backpack. I was looking for something that could support all my gear but wasn't sol bulky. This can hold my larger camera and plenty of lenses. And most importantly holds them securely. Things tend to slide around in the backpack.

Just received this bag, I was ready for a change from my old bag, just about everything I have ever purchased from Tamrac has been good quality and this bag is made well also. However its way to small in my opinion for two bodies and glass, if you have any large primes or medium tele's forget it, they just don't fit and if you use hoods forget about it....The bag specs state two pro bodies and 5-6 lenses plus flash and other gear, I just don't see it, maybe I'm configuring it wrong ? I think not, its pretty cut and dry......Nice bag for one body and a few extras..........

Love the quality of Tamrac bags and this one did not disappoint. I have a Tamrac bag I've used for probably 15 years and is still in great condition.

I take these bags on all my photo shoots and love the fact that I can fit a lot of what I need in each one.

The only downside is that the photo on the website of what will fit in the bag as far as number of lens is not really accurate in my opinion.

Comments about 5608 Pro 8 Camera Bag (Black):

I bought this bag to use as a bag for extended travel. It is large enough to hold one body, seven lenses and a large flash with enought room left for accessories. The best thing is it's still small enough to fit under the airplane seat. The only downside I've seen it is still new enough that I have to hunt for what I need. This will no longer be a problem as I get more used to the bag.

Comments about 5608 Pro 8 Camera Bag (Black):

This is a fantastically well build camera bag. The quality of the fabrics and construction is top-notch. The only construction quality issue I have with the bag is that the zipper pulls on the various pockets — that is, the ones other than those used to open the main compartment — are a bit smaller than I prefer. This is not a particularly big deal though; the addition of an additional zipper pull cord does wonders when it comes to easily and quickly opening zipping pockets.

My only other minor quibble with this bag is that it doesn't quite hold as many of my lenses as I would have hoped. It isn't a huge deal; the bag really does hold everything I need when going out on a shoot, especially considering that I would normally be driving my own car, where I can put additional equipment elsewhere. That being said, this is not, in my opinion, a bag capable of holding the entirety of what I would normally want to carry with me: two DSLRs with lenses, 2-3 additional lenses (non of which are telephoto), filters, memory cards, batteries, cleaning tools and materials, etc.

                Bottom line:
This is very well made bag, which I highly recommend as an everyday bag when in one's own environment. However, I believe it is not able to hold quite as much as is claimed in the description, and I do not recommend it as a bag to bring on a trip away from one's home (for that I recommend a larger sized bag, the Pro 12 perhaps).

Comments about 5608 Pro 8 Camera Bag (Black):

This is a good product with two exceptions. First, the claim it's a two dslr bag is a bit optimistic. If you have two bodies and the typical slew of lenses your probably better off buying the PRO 12 bag. Second, access to items stored in the bottom row is a clumsy affair.

This bag is very sturdy and a perfect size. Any bigger and it would be too heavy to carry! I love the mesh/clear pockets, it's easier to find the little things than with deep pocket bags. I'm very happy with this bag.

Very nice bag. You better have enough gear to fill it up though because it is very large! Compartment layout is very different from most other bags I've owned. I will only say it will take some time to get used to the different
"levels or floors" on the bag. It does seem good quality though and it will keep your equipment very safe.

Comments about 5608 Pro 8 Camera Bag (Black):

Amateur photog shooting film (slr & tlr) and digi (slr) I've wrestled with using a smaller bag for grab n go and a backpack for a greater volume of gear. The Tamrac Pro8 seems, for me, to be a very happy medium. (Christmas gift that was on my wish list for a while.) I have space enough to mix and match my cameras and lenses. Pockets for filters and such are clear, making visual inspection easy. It also lets me label the pockets, which is not possible with netting or nylon. The bag dividers seem sturdy and work well. The vinyl lined top flap is well secured with zipper, velcro and buckle snap closures. The battery/memory card pocket system seems to be a good idea, but the jury's still out on it. It has a back sleeve, which permits you to slide the bag onto the telescoped handle of another piece of luggage.

Now the nit picky stuff: The tripod carrying loops seemed to be a bit if an afterthought. I like the fact that they're there, but they seem to force you to attach it in an awkward location; on top would have been my choice. Making the straps and buckles detachable from the bag might have been another option, so that when not carrying a tripod, the straps don't dangle from the bag.
Getting my 2.8 70-200 into the bag with the camera and a 16-85 (my walk around lens) is turning out to be more of a challenge than expected.
All n all, I'm very satisfied with the bag. The construction seems good and the little negatives things are little. I'm sure that the more familiar I become with the bag, the more I'll like it.

Comments about 5608 Pro 8 Camera Bag (Black):

The 5608 Pro 8 Camera Bag by Tamrac is a little larger than I thought, and bigger than I needed, but it gives me plenty of room to grow into. I purchased this bag sight unseen to replace a very old and well-worn Coast bag. It very comfortably holds my Nikon D7100 an 18-200 zoom, and flash along with all the miscellaneous cables and memory cards. The bag offers a lot of storage compartments for accessories of all sizes too. I especially like the Camera Bridge feature that lets me keep my DSLR and lens at the top of the bag and ready for quick, easy access. The bag appears well made and it should last of many years. I am happy with my purchase and would recommend the bag for anyone with a DSLR and 2-3 lenses and several accessories.

Using for my new Panasonic mirrorless camera and lenses. Plenty of room for my current camera and 3 lenses, plus plenty of room for expansion. Also, nice storage for chargers, cords, memory cards, etc. Outside pockets will be used for my point and shoot cameras. Also has straps for a tripod.

Comments about 5608 Pro 8 Camera Bag (Black):

OK... I have one camera and a multiple of len's, a battery charger, a light meter, small batteries and many small items that make up my camera use kit.
I wanted a bag that could hold the camera horizontal in the bag, with up to a 70-200 len's, along with my 28-70, which are my go to len's for most shooting situations. (And one on camera flash). This camera bag is slightly bigger than the one I had previously been using for about ten years. I like the slight bit of extra room. This bag has plastic see through compartments.... probably will get all scratched up after years of use and might be better as mesh see through partitions. This bag has the perfect partition size to allow me to have as a bottom layer my nikon D4 battery charger and a robust light meter. Should I think I might not need the light meter such as going out and shooting wildlife I can replace it with the 70-200 len's.
The bag is very well constructed and does not draw attention to the very expensive gear inside of it! I always black out the gold lettering of my Nikon gear as I do not like theives to easily see what I am carrying. I did cut off of this bag the tripod straps as they are going to be getting in the way of everyday use.... besides, with a tripod attached the bag would be sitting all askew and put pressure on only the edge of the bag, which might not be good fro whatever is in the bag.
Very good clasps to secure the top down and prevent quick handed theives from gaining quick access.Good rubber "feet" on the bottom should protect the bag from wearing out quickly due to pushing it into and out of storage situations.
The only thing I think is slightly weak is the zipper of the front compartment, which is not easily zipped around the corners of this compartment.

Very nice camera bage. Advertised as having space for two cameras. It does but it is tight. Very well-paded and velcro seems to work very well. I see that they have changed some pockets to hold film into SD and cell phone compartments. I like what I bought a lot and would recommend it if you have limited gear to haul around. One problem: the padding makes the case seem like it is not deep (or tall) enough for 5d mark iii camera so I close the top carefully.

Comments about 5608 Pro 8 Camera Bag (Black):

I needed a bag for two DSLR bodies with lenses on and room for four other lenses and some extra gear like flash and cables. One body fits with a 18-135 lens but the other body facing it fits alone or maybe with a pancake 40mm lense. You can not fit the bodies in with lens shades on, the side padding is too tight, which is good and bad. It protects the cameras well, but makes it inconvenient to just pull a camera out and shoot. You have to find space for the shades elsewhere in the bag.
I like the fact that the cameras sit horizontally and not vertically resting on their lenses. Since I plan to use the cameras in this particular bag for shooting video, I think it will be OK.

Holds most of my stuff, all be it a little snuggly. An inch or two larger would have been better as well as adding a few more velcro attachment points. Like the bag taking a trip next month and look forward to using it.

Comments about 5608 Pro 8 Camera Bag (Black):

This is a really great bag that does exactly what I need it to do, which is to store all my cameras/lenses/etc. in one bag so it is easy to access. Before I had this bag I had my equipment split between two bags which just wasn't convenient. Now I know where everything is and can take from the big bag and find what I need to put into a smaller bag or just take the bag with me if I need it all. One thing though is I think I might have to invest in the straps that make it a backpack because where it is so big carrying it over my shoulder makes it awkward to walk (I'm only 4'10"). However, I totally love this bag!
