Porta-Trace/Gagne The Projector - Gagne/Porta Trace makes projecting images against a vertical or horizontal surface fun and efficient. It is a very effective way to trace an existing image or design. It easily allows the artist to size, visualize, or conceptualize even before beginning to reproduce an image.
This is a great all purpose model. It is large enough for most projects, but small enough to be easily transported and stored. Its convenient handle and bottom loading design allow for easy projection of larger images by section giving a clear bright projection right out to the edges.
Note! This projector does NOT include a bulb. Uses one 100 Watt household bulb

Comments about Porta-Trace / Gagne The Projector - Opaque:
This is a great projector for the money. I wouldn't attempt any extra minute detailing but for general, all-purpose tracing it fills the bill. No problem with the built-in focusing. It may require moving the entire unit contingent on the size you're attempting to produce. And yes, it does require a dark room as it IS a projector.
Very satisfied with the quality and functionality for the price.

Comments about Porta-Trace / Gagne The Projector - Opaque:
I used this product to trace a mural on my daughters bedroom wall before painting. Had to block all light in the room to project the picture on the wall. focusing is fairly simple and time saved made it all worth it. (i hate making grids on walls) My daughter loves her new "Cinderella" wall. I can't wait to use it again. If you want to use it for pictures larger than 5"X 5", it can be done by lining up bottom or top edge of picture and taping it in place. this will make it easier to align to what is already on been traced.

Comments about Porta-Trace / Gagne The Projector - Opaque:
I love my projector. It's great as I am just getting started making art for a living. It's reasonably priced and great for making floor cloths and painting silk. Also it only need a regular 100wt bulb so there is nothing fancy to buy. I wish it worked better in a lit room... as painting in the dark is slightly difficult.

Comments about Porta-Trace / Gagne The Projector - Opaque:
I've been struggling to learn to paint, but suddenly realized one of my biggest problems was that I also couldn't draw !!!! The Projector - Opaque has allowed me the opportunity to be able to project a photo onto my paper/canvas and trace enough that the proportions are there and I just have to fill in the detail. In my trial run, I couldn't get it focused well enough to show all the detail, but that has given me artistic license to fill in the blanks !!! I can hardly wait to use it more, but it has gotten me over the fear that my drawing is not going to look anything like the photo.
