Comments about Hadley Shoulder Bag Small (Black, with Black Leather Trim):

I use it for my Leica M9 system: M9 body, 35mm Lux, 50mm Cron, 18mm Super-Elmar with 18mm Zeiss viewfinder, and 90mm APO. When I ordered this bag, I was worrying it might too small for the whole set. However, when I received the bag, I can easily load everything into it: 35mm Lux attached to the body sitting in the middle, 90mm APO sitting on the left, and all the rest sit to the right with a separator to separate the 50mm and 18mm. I have a small OP/TECH fold-over pouch for the VF so it sits nicely with the 18mm. I can also loaded the two front compartments with extra batteries, SD cards and filters. Perfect!

Comments about Hadley Shoulder Bag Small (Black, with Black Leather Trim):

Perfect if you want a small bag for your kit. This bag holds my Olympus OM-D, 12-40mm f/2.8, 75mm f/1.8, Nissin i-40, and there's still room for a little bit more. Very stylish in a classic way with high quality throughout. After using for a couple weeks, I'm satisfied that no shoulder pad is needed. I looked at other bags and other colors, but I prefer the Billingham all black canvas.

Very nice, used to carry my Olympus OM-1 and some lenses. However, the bag should have some protection when it is deposit on the floor or the ground.
            Got it fast, very happy.

            Love this size

Comments about Hadley Shoulder Bag Small (Black with Tan Leather Trim):

Been using Billingham bags for over twenty years. The first ones I still have and still look new! This particular size is perfect for me for my Leica T or M if I do not carry much more than camera and small lens, and EVF. It duals as my every day bag too so can carry with me always with my phone, and other bag stuff. The best part is not too heavy. I have tried a couple more trendy leather bags made for the M, but the weight of those plus the camera gear is why I don't use them on a regular basis.

Comments about Hadley Shoulder Bag Small (Khaki with Tan Leather Trim):

This is my first Billingham bag and decided to finally get one with my new Fuji XT1 system. First of all the quality is amazing. Beautiful canvas and leather material. I got the padded shoulder pad which I think is a must. It's all very pricey, but I think after more uses that will be long forgotten. It fits my system: one XT1 body with normal 35mm f1.4 mounted, plus 2 extra lenses: wide 14mm f2.8 and short tele 56mm f1.2. In front pockets hold 3 batteries, charger, flash and filter. There's a little more room left in both main compartment and pockets. The canvas is still tight so I'm not real quick yet of getting things in and out, but I think that will come with more practice. Have not had in in rain yet, so I can not attest to waterproofness, but the top flap wraps around the bottom so beautifully, I "think" you'd have to be out in a pouring rain for quite awhile for anything to get in. I gave it a 4 rather than 5 because getting the straps in front and then upper flap open is really old school and not real quick, but for this kind of bag and look, that's what you should expect. One last small complaint, mentioned before, is that it would be nice ir the upper flap had a handle to grab it quick off the ground.

As with all B&H orders, perfect service. This costs a lot more than it would if made in Asia. But I think it's the only thing I have ever owned made in England. I assume employees of Billingham are reasonably paid. So the price is expected. Design and quality of this bag are both superb.

Comments about Hadley Shoulder Bag Small (Khaki with Tan Leather Trim):

I traveled to Chicago with an OM-D camera and a number of lenses for street shooting and carrying additional lenses and accessories in public buildings including The Art Institute of Chicago. I was able to effectively pack the camera body (E-M1) with a 17mm lens attached, and packed 75mm and 25mm (Voightlander) lenses, both of which are on the large side of M4/3 prime lenses. I also packed two spare batteries, extra memory card, lens pen cleaning brush, ball point pen, note cards, microfiber cloth, and phone. If I substituted a 45mm lens for the 75mm, I could also fit polarizing filters for all three lenses. If I absolutely felt I needed it, I could have stuffed a "turkey-baster-style" blower for cleaning lenses, but I left it out. All the items were accessible and the bag didn't get in the way, which is what I wanted. The leather tabs that keep the bag closed were quiet, easy to open and close, and secured the items inside. I didn't have to deal with inclement weather, but the top flap completely covers the top of the bag, so I'm confident the bag would withstand a driving rain without issue. The only feature I wish this bag had is a handle on the top flap. The size forces you to think about what you really need and limit the items you carry with you. If you can work under that constraint, it's an effective and attractive bag. I almost returned the one I purchased when I saw the actual size, but I'm glad I tried it. The other option is the large size, which is still not overly large. I may yet get the larger bag to replace my beloved Domke shoulder bags. The Domkes are incredibly flexible in terms of what you can carry, but it's also easy to bring more than you really need and the Velcro closures are problematic in some situations.

Bag seems pretty small, till you realize how much one can put in it. Well made with good construction and materials, not done cheaply. I have a bigger version of this bag for a few years and liked it so much got the smaller one for when I am not needing to carry as much.

It is by far the best looking & best constructed bag I have ever had or seen. I anticipate many years of enjoyable & functional use with it.

Comments about Hadley Shoulder Bag Small (Khaki with Tan Leather Trim):

This is a fantastic bag for a mirrorless or micro 4/3 body (I have a Fuji X-E1) with a lens attached (35mm) and two other lenses, spare batteries, filters and an iPad mini or similar small tablet. It is small, so if you have a DSLR you'll be able to get a consumer model and zoom lens attached in there but I can just get my Cannon 5D with the 17mm-40mm in there. Any larger zoom will not work attached. Primes have not been a problem. What is really great about this bag is its versatility due to its removable insert. The insert is very well padded to protect your gear. I generally like to have my camera out and ready to shoot. Sometimes I leave the insert in to store the camera but lately I've taken it out and carried the lenses in small neoprene pouches. This allows me to fit a small book and other items in the bag and made it my go to bag. If I want to carry more than just my camera gear (for a hike or overnight stay) the removable insert is small enough to fit into a backpack with room to spare so I can carry other things like my computer, lunch, files, etc....Another great plus about the insert is that it allows me to carry my gear in a non-descript backpack or bag. I love the look of my Billingham and it is plenty sturdy and tough but it looks like a camera bag (even my non-photog friends can pick it out as one) and trekking through the forest with rain and mud everywhere there's no extra room for a jacket. So if I'm shooting in a possibly iffy spot I can do the transformation and all is well. Otherwise it is on my shoulder 99% of the time.Yes, it is pricey, but after countless bags that really only work for gear and hybrids and inserts that are too bulky to be practical I have found the perfect bag and system for my needs. That's what matters in the end and that's why I spent the money and glad I did. This bag will last (unlike the backpack that is falling apart)and, given the prior amount money I've spent on bags, is well worth it.

Perfect for a Fuji X-100S, X-T1 and two lenses, memory cards and batteries. Enough for a whole day without putting your back out! The only thing I don't understand is why manufacturers think press studs on the front pockets are the best way to keep them closed. Otherwise a very high-quality bag.

First off, great bag use it for my Fuji X100s set up with conversion lenses and external flash and accessories. However, the cost is easily $ more than it should cost. Quality is subjective and I do not think these bags are hand made increasing costs. These bags are nice for a mirrors less camera system and sure the larger bags for DSLR's.For the cost of this bag the shoulder pad should be included! *That flap that covers the top of these bags are a Huge hindrance for easy access. Padding could be a bit better, not bad, but not great vs Think Tank.

Comments about Hadley Shoulder Bag Small (Black, with Black Leather Trim):

I have owned 5 Billingham bags in an effort to find the elusive "perfect bag". I finally found it in the Billingham Hadley Pro, which Is great for travel with my dSLR and a couple of lenses, or accessory gear. But I wanted a somewhat smaller bag for daily use when I only want to take my two smaller cameras, in my instance, the Canon Sl1 and a couple of lenses, or the SL1 and a compact camera.
If you are looking for a bag to hold a larger dSLR with grip, the Hadley Small might be tight, so you might want to measure the gear. The bag is fairly expandable if you don't mind it being a little stuffed.

The Billingham Hadley Small is a smaller clone of the Hadley Pro, with same protective interior, configurable dividers, outer Billingham waterproof canvas fabric ease of entry with no zippers, and great classy style, I find it perfect for two smaller cameras, using the outside front pockets for accessory items. There is also room between the removable interior insert and outer shell for an iPad, as I heard mentioned.

Comments about Hadley Shoulder Bag Small (Black with Tan Leather Trim):

The bag is just the right size for the SLR camera I just bought, with eanogh room for few more things like an extra lens, cards, batarie, ect,.Love the looks and comfertable size, even though before it arived I thought it would be somewhat bigger.
The price is somewhat on the high end, but the bag seem to be very well made and I hope to use it for a verylong time in all sort of weather conditions. It seems like it can do the job.

This is my third Billingham bag- I already have the smaller Hadley Digital and the larger Hadley Pro. This bag is the perfect size for my 5DIII and 24-105 lens or Fuji X-E1 and 2-3 lenses. Billingham bags have great quality, durability, and functionality. An additional benefit is that they are waterproof without needing an additional cover.

Comments about Hadley Shoulder Bag Small (Khaki with Tan Leather Trim):

I have a few larger camera bags and the issue I have is I have a tendency to carry too much stuff... the bigger the bag the more I try to stuff in. I wanted a shoulder bag for my Leica M9 and i wanted it to be small so I'd be forced to travel light. I decided to try the Billingham Small after researching everything. I'm sure I'd love the Think Tank Retrospective, The Lowepro Stuff, the Domke and even the ONA... but I just had it in for the Billingham.
I'm able to fit my M9-lens attached and my Fujifilm x-pro 1 with a 35mm 1.4 attached at the same time with enough room for my light meter. All this is the main compartment (thats maxed out, but with enough room to easily put in and remove the cameras). This leaves the two front pockets for cards, batteries, etc, and a small space behind the insert for a notebook.
                                        I'm really liking this bag.
I think it looks incredible in person... the pictures do nothing for it. The quality is exceptional. It just looks high end. That being said the price, in my opinion, is high. I guess It's a life time bag so in 30 years I will be glad i spent the cash.
I use the bag mostly when I'm out and about and it's great for street shooting. Small enough to move through a crowd and not give issues.
One down side... my wife calls it my purse. If you aren't secure in your manlyhood you might want to try something else, but I'm ok with carrying a man bag.
Bottom line, I'm happy with it and would buy it again without hesitation.

Let me start off by saying I just recently sold my Fuji X100 and Leica Billingham Combo bag. I was sad to let the bag go but I sold it as a package deal. I purchased a Leica M6 and needed a bag as a replacement to my combo bag. After hours of research I ordered the Billingham Hadley Small. It is a great bag it is alittle shorter in depth than the Leica combo which is nice and doesnot feel as box like. It is a little bit bigger that the Leica one and had two nice pouches in the front that can accommodate many different items to include rolls of film. I am a pro photographer and own many a camera bag to include Domke, Crumpler, Lowe Pro and Tamrac. This company is the best hands down if you want quality and functionality. If you are on the fence looking at this bag trust me you will not be disappointed. I order from B&H exclusively because I know I am getting a genuine product and customer service all at a great price.

Comments about Hadley Shoulder Bag Small (Black with Tan Leather Trim):

This is a great bag. It is incredibly well made and it looks great on top of that. I use this bag with my D7000. I can fit the D7000 with a lens attached, and the bag can carry one spare lens, as wel(ex. nikon 85 1.8 and 35 1.8 or the sigma 10-20 4-5.6). It is a pricier bag, but I highly recommend it. It's a very well made bag.
