Audio-Technica AT4047SV - Cardioid Large Diaphragm Studio Condenser Capacitor Microphone

You Pay: $699.00

The Audio Technical AT 4047SV is a large diaphragm condenser microphone intended for studio recording of vocals and instruments such as piano, stringed instruments, percussion, guitar and more. The AT 4047SV features a dual diaphragm capsule design maintaining precise cardioid polar pattern pick up and high-quality audio fidelity with low noise floor. Exceptionally low self-noise, wide dynamic range and high SPL capability attribute to the microphones sonic quality and versatility. The high SPL rating allows the microphone to be used with audio sources high in transient response, otherwise overloading the circuit. The 4047SV boasts a frequency response of 20Hz to 18kHz, capturing low-end frequencies in great detail while maintaining the sonic presence of the mid- and high-frequency spectrum.

Cardioid Polar Pattern
Cardioid polar pattern effectively minimizes off-axis noise caused by room ambiance, monitors, instruments etc.
Dual Diaphragm

A transformer-coupled output and specially tuned element provide a warm sonic quality characteristic of F.E.T. studio microphone designs.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT4047SV - Studio Mic with Shock Mount:

I use the 4047sv for voice over. I could not be happier with it's performance. Several clients I have worked with complimented my tone and asked what type of preamp I was using. Oddly enough, I was running the 4047 into an Mbox 2 completely unprocessed. I think that speaks volumes about the quality of the 4047.
I am not a big fan of the design of Audio Technica's shock mounts in general because of having to snake whatever mic you are using through a rubber band, but it does do what it is intended to do.
