The Mamiya Remote Control Set (RS402) takes full advantage of the automated functions of the 645AF. The wireless receiver unit attaches to the camera's hot shoe and plugs into the receptacle on the side of the body and operates via infrared impulses relayed by the transmitter.

Comments about Mamiya Remote Control Set RS402 for 645AF:
Without flashes there is no problem.
However, with studio flashes the remote control activates the flashes, but slightly before the shutter is released.
Mamiya advises to turn off strobe slaves, so you can activate them only with radio or cable.
This is not very reasonable.
Also, to make it more ridiculous, the remote receiver hot shoe is cold - so if you mount a transmitter it will not be triggered.
Very poor design by Mamiya.
