I bought this accessory with a certain degree of trepidation; I really wasn't sure if it was going to be useful enough to justify the price.
Still, after doing contortions and squinting into the eyepiece of a camera set up close to the ground for some macro photography, I felt that there had to be a better way and perhaps the Angle Finder C would provide it.
It did. The device is very useful for avoiding uncomfortable positions and thus being able to concentrate more on the image and less on my about-to-give-out back. The image through the viewer is clear, and the 2.5x magnification option helps greatly with manual focusing.
I now find myself using it increasing for more conventional shooting at head height on a tripod; being able to look into the viewfinder from the side or slightly above or below adds a welcome alternative.
The unit seems reasonably well made without being strikingly solid or heavy. It fits easily onto the eyecup holder of my Rebel XT, 30D or 40D, and stays securely in place once installed. There's easy rotational movement of the side arm through 360 degrees, although the arm only 'clicks' into position for limited number of angles, but enough for all purposes I have yet used the Angle Finder.
The eyecup is comfortable, certainly as comfortable as those on the binocular microscope I use at work. I would say that my long time use of microscopes makes me take to the Angle Finder much more easily than might be otherwise; using it is very similar to using a monocular microscope.
It would be nice if the unit 'swung' out to provide angle options outside of 90 degrees to the camera's line of sight, but I imagine the optics required for this would add considerably to the size and price. As it is, regardless of where the Angle Finder is positioned in its perpendicular motion, the image you see through it is always of that of a conventional view through the view finder. Using it, I tend to forget that I am actually looking through an extra set of glass elements, making it essentially transparent in use as well as in optics.

Good for picture of hard-to-reach places
Sometimes the ground is just to wet or dirty (or your clothes are too good) to lie on the sand and take a picture of a beautiful flower: enter the angle-finder!

Also very good for taking street-picture, as most people are accustomed to the photographer looking at them through the lens, instead of looking down.
Radial rotation is a little too easy, a stiffer rotation would have made the Angle Finder C a little more robust

Comments about Canon Angle Finder C:
I get tired of missing a great shot because I cannot get low enough on the ground. This is a great new item, and I will find a lot more uses than just macro. Already I spent several hours on a little stool observing a Red Tailed Hawks nest, trying to get the right shot. I had to be pretty low, as this nest is in a canyon, below where I could really see. It saved my neck, and my knees as well.
I give 4 stars, because of the price.

Comments about Canon Angle Finder C:
A little pricey but this is a wonderful little gadget. I love the effect you can achieve with low angle shots....but I don't love lying prone on the ground to see out of the view finder. This little gadget takes care of that. Easy to use, lightweight and it packs away nicely in its protective pouch. Old folks...listen up! You need this thing.

Comments about Canon Angle Finder C:
The Angle Finder C is a must have item if you shoot landscape and/or macro. Some shots require camera placement where access to the view finder is very difficult. It allows the user to "shoot around the corner". I can get even more creative with the versatility this tool offers. Using this device lets me set my tripod in a lower, more stable position. No more cheek marks on the LCD screen.

Comments about Canon Angle Finder C:
Bought it primarily for astrophotography on my 5D markII. Great for making sure what I am shooting is completely in the frame. Works great! When I got it I found out that the eye piece rotates about the view finder clip! Very useful, and a nice surprise! Should work well for macro photography as well. Of course it will not help with focus on stars, planets, etc. Still have to use live view for that, but I knew that beforehand. A pin point of light is still a pin point of light at 2.5x.

Yes, there are less expensive brands. This is worth the coin and B&H is the place to buy.
I use this for Astro imaging. With my Canon pointed to the heavens this device keeps me in a nobel position and a lot more comfortable. With the 2.5x view and 360 degree rotation this is a hit.

I needed something that allowed me to get my camera as low to ground as possible and this met my need perfectly. Came with two eye mount adapters (both fit the cameras I use equally - so one is a spare) nice touch! Comes in a protective pouch and easy to affix to the camera. So far I've not found anything to complain about - it's a great accessory!!

I use this angle finder when I want to achieve a close ground shot. It allows you to set your camera into a position close to the ground without actually laying on the ground to look through your view camera's finder. It also rotates 90 degrees in both directions. It has two magnification settings, 1.25x and 2.50x.
You have to separately focus when changing these two settings. I find this device very handy.
It fits both my cameras by switching eye cap adapters, 5D Mark 11 and III

How did I ever shoot without this? I love this piece of equipment. Works great, sharp as a tack, moves around with you (you can change the angle). It took a little bit to get used to it, but now I leave it on 90% of the time, even in the studio. No more aching knees from getting low to get the shot. I love this thing!

I bought the angle view finder to make it easier to take macro photographs of flowers and it does an admirable job. The slide on mount isn't very secure and the angle finder fell off my camera a few times (I use a tripod mount camera strap attachment so it hangs upside down). The eye cup is great and the optics are clear and bright.

We're shooting more and more video with DSLR's these days. Often the camera is set up in some pretty tight situations that make checking focus difficult. The Canon Angle Finder C has proved perfect for the job. Adjustable viewing angle and a choice of magnification are brilliant. Only negative is the rubber eye cup which could be more ergonomically designed to fit your eye better, and keep out extraneous light. Service and delivery from B&H to New Zealand was fantastic.
