Inexpensive filters for the big lenses

By yipDog

from Mesa, AZ

Comments about Canon Drop-In Filter Holder for 52mm:

Makes it very easy to use filters in the big lenses. Works in my 300 f2.8 II and 500 f4 II as well as the older versions.

A must for your long canon telephoto

Comments about Canon Drop-In Filter Holder for 52mm:

If you have already invested so much in a lens that is compatible with this drop-in filter, you obviously care about image quality.
That being said, filters are a must.
So get this, get a nice filter set, and you have a wonderful alternative to bulky and expensive matte box rigs - and you'll have full iris control even on really sunny days.

Comments about Canon Drop-In Filter Holder for 52mm:

I bought a 500mm used and it came with a polarizer but the drop in wasn't included so I had to purchase this. It comes with a clear filter so you don't have to purchase that as well.

Comments about Canon Drop-In Filter Holder for 52mm:

It makes a lot more sense to me to use a glass rather than a gel filter in a $4000US lens. But I wish that I known that the 52mm filter holder COMES with a Canon "Protect" 52mm filter. I assumed that it was just a holder and that I'd have to buy a filter as well. That's what I did, I bought a B&W high end 52mm UV filter and although I'm using it I wonder if it was a waste of money.

Comments about Canon Drop-In Filter Holder for 52mm:

        Good product. Quality made.
I don't know why Canon didn't include this with their 300mm f/2.8 lens. They also should have made provisional space for storing it in the lens carry case.
