Comments about Phoenix Telephoto 100mm f/3.5 Macro Manual Focus Lens for Minolta MD:

I bought one of these used 3 years ago via [*] and got a great price, but used ones often sell for more than B&H sells it new. People expect to pay a lot more for a 100mm macro. The A-mount AF version is known at Dyxum as the "plastic fantastic" -- poor tolerance plastic build around quite good optics -- and this manual version also fits that description. The 1:1 adapter is a matched close-up lens, which works surprisingly well. Image quality is a little poorer than my other macro lenses, but it still is better than the vast majority of non-macro lenses (even at non-macro distances), and is really very convenient to use.In short, it doesn't feel as nice as old manual-focus lenses, but it is easy to recommend.
