Comments about VariZoom VZ-LSP Pro Shoulder Brace:
This brace is in no way whatsoever built to last. They are super light weight, and they give you a great quick-fix for added stability. However, my office has bought close to fourteen over the years, (using Panasonic DVX's on them) and they've all snapped. Every single one has broken. It's hollow aluminum that breaks off like a paperclip after about 10 months of use. Buyer beware...

Comments about VariZoom VZ-LSP Pro Shoulder Brace:
I bought a new Sony NX5U and needed a shoulder support. I tried borrowing a friends VZ-LSP and I liked it. I was at NAB last month and tried a bunch of supports and most of them were too big and/or expensive for my little camera. This was not expensive and works good

Comments about VariZoom VZ-LSP Pro Shoulder Brace:
I use this mount for eng style shooting, really helps bring back the feeling of putting a larger 3/4" news camera on your shoulder - very portable, light weight, easily collapses to travel. It works equally well with heavier larger cameras such as the XD Cam as well as smaller HDV or DV cameras.
Will not create a smooth look be warned this is not a steady cam and will not perform like one.
But does the job for extended guerilla style or news style acquisitions.
For the price it's great. There is no zoom or focus on the device itself however that was not my goal, it just balances the camera weight wize on your body so you can use both hands to do the rest and work and be the east/west stabilizers.
The lower half (the T part) you can adjust it up and down for different camera positions or angles, but mostly it is for adapting to your comfort and body position to get the camera pointed forward as desired. There are other small adjustments you can do that help to angle the camera slightly to compensate for what is most comfortable for your body type.
And like the earlier shoulder mounted cameras, not or course really technically for running or a lot of walking- just creates effect similar to having a camera on your shoulder.
Saves a lot of shoulder, arm and wrist strain.
Highly recommended.
