Comments about Fujifilm Neopan-400 135-36 Professional Black & White Print Film:
I shot this film with a Yashica FR-1 during my recent triple to Europe. I am more than happy with the quality of the film once I got it developed and printed (on silver halide paper). Despite it being a 400 speed film, there is very fine grain, almost invisible in a 4x6 print. The dynamic range is incredible (which is why I, like many others, still love shooting film). My prints turned out very sharp and detailed. The blacks are deep and dark, and highlights are well controlled. I hope film like this never gets taken off the market, it is the best!!

Comments about Fujifilm Neopan-400 135-36 Professional Black & White Print Film:
My MP is stick with neopan.
These films can be pushed untill 1600.
They product less grains than triX and are easy to expose.
Instead of buying over priced neopan 1600 (not any more product ) try neopan 400 pushed to 1600.

Comments about Fujifilm Neopan-400 135-36 Professional Black & White Print Film:
Good detail in shadows: fast enough to stop down: works well for night photography with predictable reciprocity failure. Probably the best overall B&W film I've tried; definitely better than Ilford (IMHO).

Comments about Fujifilm Neopan-400 135-36 Professional Black & White Print Film:
I'm not an expert on all the quirks when it comes to b&w processing, but after trying out Tri-x, Delta 400 and TMax 400, Fuji Neopan 400 stands out as KING, plain and simple!
The tonality is awesome (as is Acros btw) and you get minmal grain to boot, the other 400's are imo not even close in 35mm.
Neopan 400 render red colors dark in a very pleasing way, no more pale lips on portraits.
It's pushable, pullable, very forgiving and you can use just about every developer out there with good results (I am currently using Tetenal Ultrafin).
This film really has some personality going for it, in addition to the technical qualities.
Get it while it's still available.
Because of the way Fuji handles itself these days, I'm not even sure if this film will be available next week.
- This is a shame, off course, because the product is simply awesome.
While writing this review, Fuji has decided to discontinue several films (color mostly). They ditched this film in 120 last year.
I am currently bying as much as I can, before they go crazy and cancel this one too. (getting a bit nervous these days with all the discontinue-talk floating around).
As long as it is available though, I highly recommend it.

Comments about Fujifilm Neopan-400 135-36 Professional Black & White Print Film:
I push this film out to 3200asa, this is probably beyond the limit of the film. But I had to go to 3200 to get the shoot which I did. Grain is well controlled as is contrast. Whilst being a modern film in every way, sharpness, speed grain, it has an old school look when printed. Now impossible to find in Australia, so I am trying Kodak Tri-X 400. I do not like the modern Kodak films like TMax 400. Also scans well in dedicated silide scanner when developed in D76. I have tried other processes and other films nothing scans this well.
As I said the best 400 speed B&W film I have used.

Do not be fooled by the inexpensive nature of this film. It delivers high quality results just the same as the premium films on the market. Kodak HC-110 @ Dil. E provides wonderful results with enhanced shadow detail at the box rated speed.

Comments about Fujifilm Neopan-400 135-36 Professional Black & White Print Film:
This film is definitely good quality for its price. It's durable, easy to load, and can handle a surprising amount of abuse and tension. The Fuji Neopan blew away a competitor's ISO400 film I used in the same camera only a week before switching brands. All of the images seem somehow of higher quality and there appear to be more depths to the gray areas even when it was used as the same exposure and aperture setting as the other film. I'm not a photography expert, so perhaps I am at fault, but so far I prefer this film over the others I have used and all of my images look crisper when enlarged. Also, this film hasn't scratched in any way nor do any accidental finger-touches show up, something that the competitor's film cannot say. This would be a great beginner's film because of how forgiving it is.

I ordered this film to use for my photography class and didn't really know what to expect. After using the film and developing it, I am really happy with how my photos turned out.The tonal range was great and I was able to make prints which turned out better than I expected. I would definitely recommend this film especially for nature photos. Although I used it to take some portraits, there is still a slight visible grain, so if you don't like grainy photos like I do, I would recommend choosing a film with a lower ISO.
