I picked up this strap in LA last summer & instantly loved it. Even with heavy bodies and lenses, I can drop my arm to my side and maintain a secure hold of the camera with a relaxed grip. You need to adjust it somewhat loosely or you will restrict the mobility of your index finger. After a year of use though, the strap totally loosened and dropped my expensive gear to the ground. Fortunately I was shooting football and my camera fell upon soft grass. As a failsafe I fed the strap back through the adjuster a second time. See the attached photos. It works well with both standard and gripped bodies.Hope this is helpful.Anthony

Like most, I wanted this grip to replace the Nikon strap with the rubber-like backing which annoyingly grips the neck. The strap itself was inexpensive but was far better quality than I expected, it is made in Japan which was also unexpected.
I strapped it to my D90 and adjusted it for fit within 5 minutes, super easy to attach. It fits well and keeps the camera secure, however once I started actually using the camera, I had to do some re-adjusting.
The problem is that my "trigger finger" movement is hampered by the top strap. Imagine tightening your existing neck strap downwards while trying to press the shutter and you get the idea. My only solution was to loosen the strap enough so that it didn't get in the way as much and I got used to it.
At first it felt like the strap was really loose (as if I could drop the camera) but after a few days of use, the loose feeling doesn't bother me so much. It's not possible to make this strap snug and comfortably press the shutter. I have medium-sized hands and by design I don't think it can be improved much due to where the strap goes on the top mount of most DSLRs.
It's still better than the neck strap IMO. I rarely walk around for long periods with a DSLR anyway. One other thing to note is that you have to unscrew the bottom mounting plate to charge the battery.

I don't typically use a neck strap but carry my camera by the grip. This wrist strap allows me to carry with confidence and comfort.

Comments about Hakuba LH Camera Grip Hand Strap:
The product itself is made well and seems sturdy, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem to fit on my D600 very well. The tab at the end of the bottom attachment keeps it from resting flush against the base of the camera. There is also some flexing on the plastic plating that causes it to rest at a curved angle off the base of the camera, and the fit just doesn't feel very good.

I use it when I am carrying my camera for long periods of time while looking for things of interest to shoot. It reduces strain and fatigue on the arm muscles in particular. It's surprisingly secure and when I decide to take a shot the camera is instantly ready to go. I love it?

Comments about Hakuba LH Camera Grip Hand Strap:
The product is all I expected and more. Very comfortable to carry the camera with it. I had not thought about the difference in the hand location when carrying the camera versus when I'm sitting my pictures, but with this grip, the difference is very noticeable. To shoot the pictures, I kind of have to slide my hand out of the grip a little bit. Maybe by playing around with the adjustments I can find a more comfy setting for shooting a little easier.

Comments about Hakuba LH Camera Grip Hand Strap:
First of all, this strap does not fit a Nikon D5100 unless you file off the nub that is supposed to reinforce the mounting position.
This Camera strap seems to be of sturdy construction but my gripe with it is the awkward position it forces your hand to be in. If you want to shoot in manual, you won't be able to manipulate the thumbwheel or any of the other buttons that are strategically located.
I do not recommend this for use on any DSLR camera.

Comments about Hakuba LH Camera Grip Hand Strap:
Dollar-for-dollar, this is the best camera accessory that I have ever purchased. Allows me to hold my Nikon D90 with one hand, and even works with my BlackRapid strap (there is a receiver hole on the bottom side that accepts). The fact that you need to detach it to access the camera's batteries is barely an annoyance.

Lightens the load on my wrist, and lets me use the camera's strap (on the other side) at the same time.
But still, be smart and don't let your expensive body+lens just dangle freely from your wrist!

I am using this with my Canon 5DMark ii. It is great considering the low price you pay. I was able to attach the camera's regular neck strap to the buckle of the hand strap and I can use both. It is a little loose in my hand but you don't want it too tight anyways because you would restrict your index finger. Great product.

Comments about Hakuba LH Camera Grip Hand Strap:
When you make it "snug" (for a desirable feeling of security when carrying), you can't operate the camera. So you have to make it quite loose, allowing you to be able to shift your hand for different grip positions. It's not ideal. But even loose, you can rest assured the camera is going to fall from your hand, and it does make carrying it for long stretches much easier.
Also, the bottom mount blocks the battery compartment, so you have to loosen it to get the battery out. And when the strap is screwed to the bottom, the camera can no longer sit on a table without tipping forward. If you've got a long lens that's only so noticeable, but with a short lens the whole camera sits very awkwardly.
I'll use it, and I don't regret buying it, but it's not ideal.

I use the hand strap when I want to walk around and take some quick shots. I use the sholder strap when I plan to use the camera for longer use. The camera feels secure in my hand and will not fall off my hand if properly adjusted.

Comments about Hakuba LH Camera Grip Hand Strap:
Mostly good. Nice when you pull the camera from a bag, shoot, then put it back. Takes some work to make it comfortable. Though, it can prove awkward in some situations. The bottom mount is secure but prevents the camera from sitting flat on a table and can get in the way when packing. I do prefer hand straps to neck straps but it also annoys me at times.

Comments about Hakuba LH Camera Grip Hand Strap:
Picked this up to use with my old canon 400D. I was so tired of having the neck strap always dangling because I liked to hold the camera in my hand. For the price it is a very good grip. It has a socket underneath it so it can be screwed into a tripod. The shape of the base is uneven so you're camera won't be able to sit flat with it attached. I found the strap was hard to adjust when initially attaching it to my camera. but once set it stays firmly in place. It's a good buy if you are looking for an affordable hand grip for your SLR.
