Allows a Nikon type lens to be mounted onto a Canon EOS type camera.
Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm (AE metering), or any other functions are not retained using this adapter. In this case you will need to meter in "stop-down mode" since the lens does not have the ability to have its aperture controlled by the camera body.

I'm a professional filmmaker, and I bought this adapter to make use of old school Nikon lenses on my 7d. Anytime you change the flange focal distance by putting in any adapter- including this one- it's going to throw off your focus marks. The wider angle lens you have, the more critical the back focus is. So, for example, if you mount an 80mm lens on here, you won't notice much of a difference. A 50mm lens will achieve focus on infinity when the marks on your lens say the clouds are only 30ft away. You can still focus on the clouds, but your focus ring will continue to spin past that. This also means that you can't focus as closely as your lens claims it can. If your 50mm lens claims it can focus to 1.4ft then the actual distance you can focus to will be 1.5ft. All of this becomes dramatically more apparent if you put on a wide angle lens. This also means that you can't use the old technique of using a zoom for focus. You can't zoom in, focus and then zoom out.
Now, about this particular adapter. This is the best made, best designed adapter that I've seen. To make something that will fit between a lens and body means making a really small dismount lever but this one is larger than most and goes in the direction of dismounting instead of others that require that you pul up a pin with one finger while twisting the mount in another direction. It is far easier than other adapters and the precision lets the adapter snap right into place. Other adapters can be gummy and require a little bit of futzing to get snug. The cheap ones also are designed in such a way that they would likely break if removed from a lens too many times. That being said, the Novoflex is rather pricey. If you are going to rent or borrow your friend's lenses, you should get this adapter. If you are going to buy adapters for every lens you own, then maybe the cheaper adapters are a better deal. Personally, I own one of these and few of the cheapies.

It works. If you can find a good Nikon 85 1.4 or Nikon 85 1.2, then this will get you to use it on a Canon camera. I have purchased several of the cheaper models so that I can put one on each Nikon lens I own. Some I bought from [...] for just $10. This is expensive, and there's no noticeable difference in the images from the $10 ones I bought. It felt good, knowing I had the expensive one, until I bought and used the cheaper ones. Then I felt like an idiot.

Comments about Novoflex Lens Mount Adapter - Nikon Lens to Canon EOS Body:
I wanted to use Nikon lenses on Canon camera for a long time, but did not know any good adapter. I was very sceptical about Bower and after short conversation with the salesman I purchased Novoflex. The price of it is crazy. For [$] you can buy a new lens. Here you get only mounting of the lens. But...it works. I use it on four lenses, all Nikkor manual focus, 85/1.4; 35/1.4; 45/2.8 and Micro Nikkor 55/2.8. I did not have any problem with combination of those lenses with digital Canon EOS. If you have Nikon lenses You don't want to sell for a fraction of what you paid for them, bite a bullet and go for Novoflex adapter.

Both my 50mm and 85mm nikkor lenses fit just perfect to my Canon 5D mark II. After I tried other mount adapters like the noname-brand adapters I bought from the net and once I bought from B&H, which has assumingly well quality, I can pretty much assure you that this is the best thing in the market. Well of course its price is almost five times expensive from other equivalent brands but it is just worth it because it stands still like a rock and its wellbuiltness just makes you feel comfy just because it definitely won't harm your lens.

I was able to salvage 5 old Nikon lenses that I love and have used for many years. The picture quality is amazing and I love that the odd quirks and unusual qualities of these old beat up lenses shine through on my 7d. Ive been using this for filmmaking as well as still photography and I have to admit that I didn't really expect this product to work but it did! Only slight complaint that I have is that it's a little bit tough to get off of the lenses but I think that's the price you pay for it fitting so solidly. Definitely worth it.

The price is a turn off, but after trying a cheaper alternative that did not even lock the lens in place 50% of the time, went the more expensive Novoflex.
The cheaper ones not only were not safe for the lenses but racking focus made the whole lens move, with the Novoflex sure there is some movement if you try hard enough, but under normal usage I dont get a noticeable amount of movement of the frame.
The only turn off is the cost, but the cost is cheaper than the cost of a new lens.

I rented this adapter to put on the Nikon 14mm f2.8 lens on my Canon 5D2 body to see if it would work or not. I did the job ok; however, the fitting was NOT snuggly tight. In fact it fitted like a cheap fitting job and I doubt it would be weather tight on my camera either.
Personally, I think it was worth far less than the price tag.
I would not use it on my expensive camera and lenses, would not buy it and would not recommend anyone to buy it.
I heard there is a product called V2 coming out of Enland not only works better, also will let canon camera worked electronically with Nikon G lenses. I will try those later.
