Comments about Phoenix Zoom W/A-Telephoto 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 MF Lens:

I've been prompted by B and H to review this lens before I've developed any of the film I've shot through it. So take this with a grain of salt. Overall I'm happy with this product. I would not call the lens "rock solid" a good drop would probably shatter it. Also the focusing circle in the viewfinder is a bit difficult to operate. That aside I like the range of this lens and it is priced right. The wide angle ability of this lens is wonderful and has allowed me to develop as a photograper. I spent years shooting through a standard 50mm but am unlikely to return to that lens. The Phoenix has a nice zoom too. Bottom line this lens is versatile, it's not perfect but I'd recommend it to a friend.
