About 60% of the photos I make in a given week are shot with a tripod mounted camera. This remote cable release makes tripod operation of my E-300 a breeze. Actually allows more precise release of the shutter than the camera's shutter button as the throw of the switch is sufficient to allow great precesion in actuating the auto focus. I hated to spend so much money for a cable release but now that I've bitten the bullet I can't imagine being without this handy dandy little gadget.

The first remote stopped working after a few month? don't know what happened. Bought a second remote works OK but cable is extremely short!!! I shoot animal photography.....I originally was using the small digital remote version which has a time lag, plus when camera is in portrait mode, it rarely works. Last week trying to hold a dog while holding the remote the whole rig fell over. Broke the connection to the camera...Camera in fine shape...thank goodness I have an e-3. The remote is only useful if shooting product photography. The length of the cord precludes shooting anything else. Does anyone test these items before producing and selling them? It doesn't have to be 10 feet long, just a foot longer to get around the camera or stobes. The pathetic length of the cable is obvious the first time you use it. my next setup is a ball head on a short avenger C-Stand. I am purchasing the Hahnel rmote cable hope it is longer and the backorder is not too long.

Comments about Olympus RM-CB1 Remote Cable Release:
This cable release works very well. Locks on for bulb release when you need it. The price is right. One thing I wonder about: do I really need a cable release when my Olympus cameras are capable of responding to a small IR remote available from Olympus. I guess that both have their place, pros and cons.

Comments about Olympus RM-CB1 Remote Cable Release:
This remote connects to the camera very easily and even has a storage place for the small connection cover cap you remove from the camera.
Works great from the minute you connect it and was the best option for firing my camera and 300mm lens mounted on my tripod.

Comments about Olympus RM-CB1 Remote Cable Release:
I used this release with my E5 in conjunction with the anti-shock feature to lock the mirror up just prior to the shutter firing to avoid any image quality degradation due to either mirror slap or vibrations caused by me pressing the shutter release.
The release on the RM-CB1 is very smooth. Just as nice as the release on the E5 itself. Very easy to obtain AF on the half press or go all the way and take the shot. A nice feature is the slot where you can screw on the port cap from the E5 to keep from losing something that seems like it could be very easy to lose!
If yo like using your camera off a tripod and want the smoothest release possible with no vibrations, you want this accessory.

Comments about Olympus RM-CB1 Remote Cable Release:
Never been disappointed with anything from Olympus, works like it's meant to on my wonderful E3. Only concern I have is the 3 position cable connector could be easily damaged, if you aren't careful with it. A must have addition if you shoot multiple exposured for HDR, or simply need to take those long exposure bulb shots.

Comments about Olympus RM-CB1 Remote Cable Release:
This cable relese works as well as the shutter release on the camera. Excellent feel and control. I shoot on a tripod with long lenses and this release helps me get sharp, in focus images. Missed shots from camera shake are a thing of the past. I suppose I am a little old fashioned, but I do not like to compromise my images by using high iso speeds to raise the shutter speeds to mask camera shake. This device helps me stop it from happening!
