Solid and simple. Has nice swivel collar that my Chimera speedring didn't have, nice touch.

This is a heavy duty piece, cast to take abuse. It is easy to use unless you get mixed up easily by arrows and holes. Solid piece, and a must have for anyone with an Octadome

Comments about Photoflex Speed Ring for Speedotron:
Until now, I only owned the rectangular Photoflex Speed Rings. I wasn't sure how this would compare, but I found it to be just as good, if not better. The fact that you can attach an octagonal softbox, makes it twice as useful as before. Its solid alloy, and stainless steel construction also mean it's built to last. A solid Speed Ring, for a great price.

Comments about Photoflex Speed Ring for Speedotron:
I use this ring to attach a medium White Lightning/Light Gear USA Octobox to a Speedotron 202VF head. It works well. I've also used it to attach various rental boxes from Chimera and Profoto without any troubles.
It is sturdy, well-built, and a perfect fit for the Speedo head.
The one issue I have with the ring is that three of the round holes designed to accept the softbox poles are threaded. I think this is a design feature to allow the ring to be mounted to either a lightstand or tripod for added support for larger boxes. With my White Lightning box, these smaller holes serve, unfortunately, to prevent the poles from fitting all the way in. The poles stay put, but the arrangement doesn't inspire confidence.
With every Chimera and Profoto box I've rented and used with this ring, the poles go into the speed ring holes with no problems at all. Both brands use thinner tips on their poles it seems.
So a great ring, but folks with White Lightning/Light Gear USA boxes be warned!

This ring holds up my 7 foot Octabank just fine. I wouldn't ask for anything else.
