Deserved a 5 star except the Sennheiser engineers should be fired for mating it with this mic clip! Buy the mic, throw the clip away and get a MZQ222 clip. The mic has very good background noise rejection as well as sound quality & sensitivity. The mic IS a little large in diameter and the foam windscreen is HUGE but fits well and won't fall off. If you really need the windscreen try to find a smaller, thinner one.
MORE ON THE CLIP: Worst mic clip ever. The plastic clip that holds the mic wire will break the first time you push the wire into it so be careful. With the center pivot spring, half the clip will stick out to the side where it catches on everything and is very noisy & floppy! Can't believe Sennheiser would do this.

The very worse microphone I have ever used in my life. As a professional sound engineer I have come across countless types of microphones of all shapes and sizes, and the ME4 is simply an unusable microphone.
It has an awful frequency response, so it sounds awful no matter what you do with it, and at 40mV/Pa it's waaaay too sensitive for its type. Avoid using it with a PA system at all costs because all you will get is tons of loud feedback. Another problem with this microphone is that it's cardioid, as opposed to omni-directional which is the norm for lavalier microphones. This means that you won't get a good reception of the source if the microphone is not well aimed at it.
If you really have to, use this microphone in a controlled environment without any nearby speakers, like a studio. Otherwise stay away from this and save your money for a better quality microphone.

Comments about Sennheiser ME4 Lavalier Mic for EW Series:
This is an adequate lavalier mic for indoor use.
Positives: It has good sound quality
Negatives: It does pick up background and wind noise outdoors. The clip is not static and allows the mic to swivel in use causing unwanted noise.

I've used this mic with Sennheiser's SK-100 bodypack and EK-100 receiver. The audio clarity is good however it as noted in another review, it is very heavy on the mid-range.

We use our Sennheiser ME4 Lavalier Mic for church services every Sunday. We meet in a school gym and needed a Mic that would not pick up noise from the airconditioning units. It has exceeded our expectations with clarity and quality of sound. We also appreciated the prompt and courteous service that we received from B&H.

Comments about Sennheiser ME4 Lavalier Mic for EW Series:
Sennheiser is a top shelf product in general, however, the thing with these mics is that they are absurdly sensitive; and with wind noise, regardless of windscreens or not, you just can't use them. Most of our stuff is filmed on location outside, and these things were pretty much useless. If you're going to be inside, they probably work great. If you plan on filming outside at all, go with the other Sennheiser with a smaller head; they are super!

Comments about Sennheiser ME4 Lavalier Mic for EW Series:
As a microphone this is great. But, if your trying to hide it, it is very difficult because of it's relatively large round shape. Flat microphones are a much easier to hide under clothing. And like the other review says, the clip that comes with it is horrible.

Comments about Sennheiser ME4 Lavalier Mic for EW Series:
This is a quality mic, that reproduces good sound quality. My only beef with it is that it picks up wind noise too easy. It's rarely a problem, but if you happen to be speaking near a ceiling fan, it there may be some slight wind noise. Overall though, this is still a very good mic, even with that minor complaint.

Use for the pastor at weddings. Since a lot of weddings are outside, I would highly recommend the wind screen. Good clean sound.
