A speed ring is required and not included with this unit. Remember to get the best type of speed ring for the light you are using. If you plan on using it with multiple lights we recommend the adjustable speed ring.
The Large Shallow Super Pro Plus is designed for use with a strobe in small working spaces. With fabric not intended for the heat of a continuous light, the Large Super Pro Plus with silver interior is ideal for work where maximum softening of flash is desired. The light quality from this softbox will be slightly more contrasty than that produced by a Super Pro Plus with white interior.
The "Plus" designation of this softbox means the front face of the softbox is removable. Chimera makes different strengths of diffusion material for front face applications. The softbox comes with a one stop diffuser, but a 1/2 or 1/4 grid cloth can be purchased separately. These would allow more light transmission and help to make the light more specular, or "less soft."

Comments about Chimera Shallow Super Pro Plus Softbox, Silver - Large:
Great light for large sets / darker walled rooms or just a soft light. You need room to use this box but it shallow depth makes it a lot easier than the regular sized ones to use.
Other things good about this is the ease of set up / tear down. Very fast which in the long run saves you a lot of time and ease especially at a the end of a very long day of shooting. I leave the poles and the insides in when i tear it down. The poles do fold / snap in half for travel which is great -
I shoot Fashion Hair beauty and this light comes in handy on set many times.

Comments about Chimera Shallow Super Pro Plus Softbox, Silver - Large:
Very even lighting from top to bottom. Best of all the light is super soft and the box doesn't eat up a lot of room in your shooting area. Very light weight as well. I had no problem using the box on a boom. Very pleased with the quality of the materials and the design. The aluminum rods are a plus.

Comments about Chimera Shallow Super Pro Plus Softbox, Silver - Large:
Build quality is top notch with metal rods and not fiberglass of lesser brands. Light quality is outstanding as expected from Chimera light modifiers. Set up is quick with the Chimera quick release speed ring. While pricier than some other brands, I feel that it was worth it for what I'm sure will be many years of use.

Comments about Chimera Shallow Super Pro Plus Softbox, Silver - Large:
The key to exceptionally soft and flattering light in portraiture is a large light source. This softbox is the right tool for the job. The most important feature for me is the shallow design - less than 24" inches deep. I've used smaller softboxes that were more cumbersome due to depth.
Silver interior reflects light more efficiently than white which helps ensure an even spread cross the front and a "boost" to a moderately powered strobe (I suggest you use the secondary, interior baffle as well for even lighting).
Compared this to a Larson 4x6 which was nearly twice the price and an inch deeper. Chimera is simply a better value.
