Comments about Tamrac 619 Super Pro 19 Bag:
At last a camera bag for Pro DSRL (Eos 1D) and Canon white long lens (100-400 or 70-200/2.8). This great bag allows you to place 2 cameras with lenses fitted pointing down, useing the space in the middle for additional gears. Really a great bag!

Comments about Tamrac 619 Super Pro 19 Bag:
This review is based on comparing it to "professional" equipment. Remember, Tamrac calls this not just a "pro" bag, but a "Super Pro" bag...
I have used only Lowepro bags or other bags made in America, in the past - since the early 1980's. I still have a Lowepro 35 from '84. I only purchased another camera bag because I needed another one to be able to also carry a laptop with my camera gear.
I chose Tamrac sight unseen, because it was made in the U.S.A. and I was told it was a good brand.
I must say that the design of the 619 is fair to good.
The problem is in the materials. they are all "lightweight"
(1). Thin fabric, which feels like tissue paper when compared to the old Lowepro 35.
(2). Tiny, cheap looking/feeling zippers.
(3). Webbing & Straps made with thinner material.
(4). Bottom of bag is without any feet or protection whatsoever to protect it from abrasion, scrapes, dirt, etc. Just the same thin fabric as everywhere else on the bag. Inexcusable for a camera bag in this price range.
(5.) There are 10 "loops" or "attachment" points on the Lowepro bag, how many on the Tamrac 619?
(6.) The flap or "lid" is over sized to cover the zippered area, yet it does not. It just scrunches up and away from the sides of the bag.
(7.) The "padding" feels thinner and "cheesy". On
my 25 year old Lowepro, it is not only feels thicker, it hasn't crushed or deformed like the Tamrac has. The Tamrac arrived New In the Box, with the padding already crushed and deformed.
All in all, I don't see anything "super" or "pro" about it. It is just a run-of-the-mill camera bag that happens to be made in America that comes with an exorbitant price tag.
With the old Lowepro 35, you can immediately see and feel the quality that is not there with the Tamrac 619 "Super Pro 19".
I am all for supporting American Jobs and do go out of my way to purchase U.S.A. made goods. The problem is when the goods are less of a QUALITY than something costing a Third less made somewhere else. I then have to question whether or not they deserve my hard earned dollars.
If this was a "Made in China" camera bag selling for a third less, it would get 4 stars, because one could expect that type or level of quality and materials for that price.
Comments about Tamrac 619 Super Pro 19 Bag:
This is the best bag for a mid to large size kit, and I have owned and looked at many from Lowepro and Tamrac. The lenses all fit in vertically, including a 300 f/4 with TC installed and tripod mount. Besides my D300 with 17-55 and the 300, I carry a 70-300, 12-24, 105 Macro, 50mm, SB 800 and lots of odds and ends like Cokin kits. The fact that all lenses are stored vertically allows very quick access. Above the section with all the lens slots there is enough room to even put the Gary Fong Lightsphere and some extra items like lens hoods (when removing them for some occasion). With all this, there is room to spare, nothing is crammed, and the closed bag is still not all that big. You could fit another body or a 70-200, but then it would be full (and heavy). I prefer to carry it light with one body and one big lens. The padding is terrific: protective but not too soft so it will stay in shape. There are external pockets which are much more usable than on other bags. There is even a padded pocket for a notebook (fits MacBook Pro), or instead you can put reflectors there. The shoulder strap has a leather pad that won't ever slip off the shoulder. I could go on an on. I'm so happy that I found this bag after so many failed attempts. Yes it's expensive, but this is the only bag you will ever need. Don't buy a succession of of other bags over time, and this one will pay for itself.
