Comments about Tamrac 698 Rolling Backpack (Black):

I carry two pro bodies, 4- 6 lenses, and flash, packed my bag goes about 40 lbs.. My backpack bag has been fine, but I was just in an airport security line for 90 minutes. By the time I got to the security people, my back was very sore.

I purchased this bag for airport and field use. I used it over the weekend on a landscape photo shoot and I was delighted. The wheel are large and handled the uneven terrain extremely well. 4 hrs of shooting and no tired back. What a relief.

Expensive, but worth it if your budget allows.

Comments about Tamrac 698 Rolling Backpack (Black):

We've been looking for a good bag to streamline what we carry on shoots. It's hard to find a bag that seems to be designed with pro photographers input. Overall, this bag does well. It has sturdy, inner, adjustable dividers. We carry a D3s body with 24-70 lens, a D700 body, a 70-200 lens, a 60mm lens, a 16-35 lens, 2 pocket wizards, a sb900 flash, 2 sb800's and batteries all in the lower compartment. It's just enough to not make it too heavy. It's not a good idea to take this on a landscape or nature shoot. My only 2 complaints at this point are 1) that the zipper pockets are all the same size. I'd rather there be at least 2 smaller pockets to divide up my accessories, memory cards, cords etc. better. And 2) is the price. C'mon, really. Go do some research for yourself. Type in "Designer Carry-On Luggage" in your web browser. Try to find a bag at a similar size for this price. There's nothing overly special about this bag that justifies it's price.

Comments about Tamrac 698 Rolling Backpack (Black):

I've tried other brands and Tamrac has always been the most durable. I have other Tamrac bags and backpack for various excursions. A disability required me to find a rolling bag. The 698 big wheel fit the bill perfectly. Has room for all my equipment 2-digital slr, 2-flash units, 7-lenses and all the extraneous options and components. It all fits with room to spare and rolls smoothly and effortlessly everywhere. As for Tamrac durability? I have pro bag and original backpack over 20 years old and still like new.

Comments about Tamrac 698 Rolling Backpack (Black):

For the price tag of this bag I expected more durability from it. After i loaded all my equipment(3 SLRs, batter packs and about 4 lenses) the handle felt as if it would rip one day soon and the teh rolling bare is very flimsey. the outer shell is not solid at all. Not quite enough roomy for future expansion. I gave it two stars just because it looks sharp, but looks won't pay the bills in our business!

This is an excellent product for any professional wedding photographer as it has room enough for both of my Nikon D3's, batteries, memory cards, 3 on camera flash, 70-200mm, 24-70mm,50mm, 60mm macro, 17-35mm, and 2 external battery packs for the flash units. Not to mention you can even strap a tripod on the outside. This bag provides any photographer with an extremely easy means by which to transport their equipment as it also has wheels and a collapsible handle! All in All a great piece of equipment as it is very sturdy!

Comments about Tamrac 698 Rolling Backpack (Black):

I have been using a Lowepro backpack and have been very satisfied with it. I had serious surgery on my cervical spine (neck) two years ago and have experienced neck pain when carrying the Lowepro. I purchased the Tamrac 698 because of the ability to pull it and the large wheels. It has solved my problem. The Lowepro has many more storage pockets in the cover for passports, airline tickets, magazines, etc. that are lacking in the 698. [...]

I was looking for something that I could get all of my photo gear into, (camera's, flashes, battery packs, chargers, lenses, cables and cords, etc.) and this backpack camera bag on wheels is the cats meow. It holds all of my gear and I still have room left over for more. I haven't tried the back pack portion of it but that was not why I purchased it anyway. This case will be with me the rest of my life and it is working out great.
