I did not want to spend a lot of money on a slate and clacker so I was looking for another option because what I really needed was to mark the tapes as I was recording scenes. This product is small, lightweight, easily written on and can be held at arms length in front of the camera and marks perfectly. I find it very valuable and it costs so much less than a large slate board. If you want another option than this is a good one to try, after all it is not that expensive to try it.

I purchased this to use with a DSLR production. The idea was to hold it at arms length from my DSLR rig while shooting. The issue is that it was too blurry to be of any use with the particular focal length I was shooting at. So for me, it didn't work and I didn't use it at all. I can, however, see the benefit of it for certain situations.

I only ordered this product per a requirement for a cinematography class. I'm used to larger slates with the clapper, but you get what you pay for. The product itself works well.

It was a great product for shooting MOS and silent films. Allows you to edit your films faster and to keep track of your shots in post. It a simple product, fits in your pocket. You can use any dry erase marker on it. It is must have for student, independent and silent film makers.

My favorite thing about this slate is its size - it's 4.25" x 6." That's tiny. Small enough to fit in a back pocket on a shoot, so it's always within reach when I'm ready to roll. Love it.

This works very well, the marker is held in front of the camera and the holder yells out the scene and take and then pulls away for action to be called. We've been using it for our zombie production and it was worked very well and makes identifying clips in editing much easier.

I'm a freelance videographer from Portland, OR and I love this insert slate. Its only a 4x5, but it works perfectly for what I use it for. Its perfect for small promotions, interviews, etc. Anything that you wouldn't need a clapper to sync sound with, this little insert slate works wonders. Dry erase markers also work very well on it.
