I shopped around a bit (both retail) and online for a good entry level zoom lens for my Sony Alpha 100 Digital SLR. After going to a local camera retailer, they recommended this lens over the Sony lens, and I have been very pleased with it. Easy to interchange, works well with autofocus, etc. Am thrilled to get so much closer in on my subjects with it. Image quality is quite good. I nearly spent twice the amount at the retail store than I ended up spending at B&H Photo. I checked before buying to make sure B&H was an authorized dealer, and just received confirmation of the 6 year warranty from Tamron's warranty department. Thanks for a great lens at a great price!

I bought this lense as a replacement for a kit lense that I had dropped. Overall, it is a nice lense for getting started in photography. It offers a nice range of zoom and also has a macro feature. I learned a lot from this lense but quickly out-grew it. It's focus becomes fuzzy when stopped down low and at extreem close-up. If you have the light, it works fine, such as outdoors on sunny days. I used it for shooting a soccer game and was happy enough with the results.

Comments about Tamron 75-300mm f/4-5.6 LD Macro Autofocus Lens for Sony Alpha & Minolta Maxxum:

I use this lens to shoot photos at sports events and professional auto racing, while many reviews say the lens is stiff I found after a little use it becomes easier to zoom in or out. I would recommend this lens for beginners due the very low price and durability. The only thing that is annoying with this lens is how it's not a lensyou will use every day due to its zoom range I would recommend pairing this lens with a 18-70 lens for daily use.

out doors and road trips is where this lense excels. focus can be tricky from time to time, but for fast paced shooting, throw it into manual and out to infinity, youll get that shot even whil driving down the highway.

I prefer this lens over my 18-55mm because I prefer close up photography over full body shoots. But when I need full body the 75mm setting is there as needed. Clear photos even indoors with the Sony A35 built in flash, but amazing photos outdoors in full light. I keep the 18-55mm in the bag- just in case- but this is my favorite lens!

I have been shooting youth soccer (U12) for the past 6 months with this lens, and I just love it. Just because it is cheap in price, it has delivered some great shots. I can shoot from one end of the goal line and capture the action on the opposite end of the field (50yds x 80yrd field). I only use this lens for outdoor soccer during daytime hours. I love this lens better than my "Bigma" f2.8 70-200mm that I have mounted on my Oly.

I've found that lens to be particularly a good choice for outside shots. I've used it for portrait and for shows, and it has not let me down one time! The autofocus is little bit slow sometimes and the lens is not as performant in a low light situation, but overall, it's a very good lens. And for the price, I would say: AMAZING!

This lens has been working very well on my Sony A330, especially in well lit situations. I have used it indoors a few times but only had luck with still subjects. Outdoors even in overcast situations it has produced very nice pictures.

My only complaint would be that the zoom ring turns tightly. It's not hard to get used to this, but it was a little annoying at first.

Comments about Tamron 75-300mm f/4-5.6 LD Macro Autofocus Lens for Sony Alpha & Minolta Maxxum:

This lens is light and feels a bit too "placticky" for my taste. The zoom action is very stiff and rotates with a good deal of friction.

However, the photos it takes are very sharp. The glass is pretty good and the autofocus is resonably fast too.

All on all, I have to complaints becase for the price, you get good quality shots. It's just "light and stiff", that's all.

Comments about Tamron 75-300mm f/4-5.6 LD Macro Autofocus Lens for Sony Alpha & Minolta Maxxum:

After looking at the other reviews of this product I decided to buy it for my wife who is a beginner photogapher. I was not disappointed, it seems to do everything it advertises and as an alternative to the sony lens it did it at about half the price. Perfect for a weekend photographer. It does have trouble in very low light conditions as the other reviewers noted.
