I have owned this shock mount for many years. I misplaced it over a couple moves recently so I had to replace it. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with any replacement elastic rings, and those specific sized rings aren't the easiest to come by, and they do dry out and break occasionally. Other than that it's a great mount.

THE MICROPHONE FITS WITH A THREADED LOCKING SYSTEM. THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN DAMAGE YOUR MIC IS TO TIP THE STAND OVER.

It's a shame the A27SM(also the 32 and 44) only works with the Shure KSM27 (32/44) mic's . The way the mic screws into the cup insuring the mic will never slide though like other suspension shock mounts is an obvious, simple design with superior results . All mounts should be designed like these .
I use the KSM27 suspended overhead in the classic vocal booth array and as drum kit overheads with confidence in their stability.
