Use Quantum's Freewire 2-Step Motor Drive Cords to keep your camera meter and focus function continuously "on" (as in pressing the shutter button half-way). Your camera will be ready for instant shutter release. Or, select motor drive "delay" to command a camera to "wake up", focus and meter, then release the shutter.

Comments about Quantum 2-Step Motor Drive Cord:

The cable connects to the 10 pin Shutter Release port on many Nikon's, including my D800. The other end plugs into a Quantum's FreeWire radio transceiver.

Using a second FreeWire transceiver I can trigger the D800 from 100 meters away, the process takes two pushes of the fire button - one to focus/meter and the next to fire the camera, and it works as advertised.

I could easily give this 5 stars but for the large sum of money it cost I still needed to add a pieces of heavy "shrink tubing" over the top of the already applied tubing protecting the cable connection. Quantum just took one cord with a 10 pin head and (hopefully) soldered it to a smaller gauge wire, it just felt very flimsy at that connection so I beefed it up.
