This is a great piece of studio equipment, I have 4 of these babies and use them all the time! I like the fact that they are black and I don't have to deal with reflection off the bars if I am outside shooting, sometimes I would get flares from the sun off the chrome versions! I like these babies a lot!

I hand a lot of gear off my C stands and LOVE them. Don't get the cheap stands.. You will not like them.

Real estate photography. Great fore mounting flash up in corner of room when taking picture from outside doorway to room. Will also be used for hair light boom and reflector holder.

The kit is a great price given what you get included and the build quality. To say that it is well built is an understatement.The self locking legs and the fact that the whole stand lies flat when packed is a terrific idea.Change anything? Yes, I gave it 4 stars because I think the top 2 legs should have wing nuts instead of allen bolt for easier adjustments when used in the field on uneven ground. Very heavy but that tends to mean 'solid'! Overall terrific produsct.

I bought this kit, along with the Ranger Quadra set, because I do a lot of outdoor shooting. The Avenger stands are heavy, and very durable. If you shoot where there's a good amount of wind, you'll want these Avenger stands. If you add a sand bag with these stands, your chances of watching your lighting gear go tumbling down the beach, off a building roof top, or off a mountains edge, are greatly diminished.

It's heavy, but it's stable and hugely versatile and as far as I can tell, indestructible. Not too hard a hit on the wallet, either.

This is well built and good quality. Very solid. I use it to hold a 15 lb. glass reflector and it does very well. I do use a sandbag to counterweight the stand.

Great piece of equipment to have. I've tried other C-stands but this one is my favorite. It is extremely well made. I've had some for 5 years now, and they get used everyday, and I couldn't tell the new ones from the old ones. Can't say that for most photo equipment. The grip gets really tight and doesn't feel cheap at all, which has been my complaint with other stands I've used.

I bought this because I was tired of having cheap light stands and I needed something sturdier to hold diffusers, reflectors, etc. A little research pointed me to the Avenger C-Stand. I considered a cheaper version, but decided to go with Avenger. My only regret is that I didn't get the version with the removable base.As soon as I set it up I was impressed with its construction and quality. The first session I used it on I was even more impressed with its versatility. You know the feeling when you buy a quality piece of gear and just feel good every time you use it? Yeah, tripods, ball heads, lenses, sure... but for this to happen with a stand? Amazing.It's that good.

Incredibly well made and very sturdy.
I use it with a Monolight and a beauty dish.
At low heights I don't even need to use a counter weight. It also allows you to position your light at ANY height unlike a traditional light stand. Worth every penny.

Purchased to support Elinchrom BX-Ri 500 with 12x36 strip box as hair light. Very solid construction. Was surprised at the weight of this unit. Holds the lighting setup fully extended with no concern of tipping. Really like the way the legs work. Legs require less space than traditional light stands.

Purchasers should note that it requires an allen wrench to loosen/tighten legs. Luckily, I had one of these on hand and didn't have to make a trip to the hardware store to get one. Also got the E650 pin for connecting the light to the boom.
