This versatile film also features a broad tonal range and a wide exposure latitude, which is capable of being rated between EI 200 to EI 3200 and being pushed or pulled during development in order to maintain consistent contrast.

This item is one 36-exposure roll of 35mm film in a DX-coded cassette.

I am new to the Delta 400, I originally shot with the TRI-X for the longest time. But Delta 400 is my new 400 speed film. I shot it at 1600 and got cleaner grain than HP5/TRI-X at 800. Additionally, unlike the TRI-X this Delta 400 is much thinner so it doesn't curl up on you.

I read that this film doesn't track in some peoples cameras, well I hate to tell you but it's your camera not the film. There is NO problem with this stuff in either of my F6's. I own two of them and they run this film perfectly. The tonal range is gorgeous as shown in the examples I have provided. It develops very nicely in XTOL, which has been my developer of choice this recent few years.

After shooting every other type of film, I think I am set on Delta 400 as my all purpose work horse film. You can shoot this stuff in the bar with no flash at ISO 1600 very nicely (providing you have an F1.4 lens)

No matter what experience level your at, whether a student or a working pro, Delta 400 will give you beautiful photographs every time whether printed with an enlarger or scanned and presented digitally!

Comments about Ilford Delta 400 Professional Black and White Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures):

I've just entered the world of film photography via a college course. It's expensive, sure, but it gives you an appreciation of the minute detail that goes into making a simple image show up... somewhere. DSLRs don't do this process any justice.Anyway: I'm in no state to judge the merits of one film versus another. All I can say is that I've had no problems with Ilford Delta-400 film whatsoever, and I'm excited to shoot my remaining eight rolls. Who knows, I may buy more even when the class is over....

Keep in mind I have not yet had a chance to print with this film. However, as far as processing goes, this film is very sharp and easy to bracket. It seems just a little inconsistant and seems a little easy to fog, but perhaps I'm not feeding the rolls in the container right. Also the tone in it seems to shift and seems just a bit inconsistant.

Comments about Ilford Delta 400 Professional Black and White Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures):

Delta 400 is a true 400-speed film that renders consistently beautiful images. I process Delta 400 in Kodak D-76 (1:1) according to Ilford's specifications and obtain very sharp negatives that show a broad tonal range when printed on Ilford fiber-based paper or scanned. The film has a lovely porcelain-like grain. Delta 400 is an excellent product that I highly recommend.

I used this for my intro to black and white photography class and loved it. It was consistent good grain to detail ratio, great to shoot with and easy to load, and easy to learn development with. The quality was always great and it was relatively inexpensive. Ilford products in general were great to work with.

Developed in the correct Ilford DD-X developer, this film is pretty much as good as it gets for its type.

This film is great. It gives you the versatility of a 400 film with very unnoticeable grain. That being said there is grain but it blends with the image so well that you most likely won't mind it. The shot attached is Delta 400 but 120 not 35mm
