Got a computer with 1 or 2 sound cards, headphones, 1 or 2 sets of speakers, and maybe a tape deck or two? Or even half of that? Then this is for you!

The C-Control connects any combination of 4 stereo sources to any combination of headphones and 2 sets of speakers, each with their own volume control. There is a handy Mute button (for answering the phone or chatting with visitors), and a Dim button which cuts all the volumes by 20 db -- just right for taming the Windows sounds or a noisy game. For connecting a recorder, there are handy outputs that provide all the selected inputs EXCEPT the recorder itself (no feedback woes).

Gone are the days of plugging and replugging audio cables. One of each type of jack (source, output, speaker) is unbalanced RCA plugs, while the rest are balanced TRS phone plugs, ideal for semi-pro and pro audio gear -- though they also work fine with home equipment using the right cables.

There is a built-in talkback microphone, with volume control, which you can send to a tape deck (for annotating recordings) or a sound system (for talking back to performers).

The C-Control is ideal for the computer home music studio, or anyone with a lot of audio add-ons. Also good in a small sound booth.

For a simple piece of equipment, it actually takes some experimentation to figure out. The different outputs (quarter inch, RCA) send different sound levels and are confusing. It doesn't actually send the same signal to 3 sets of speakers. And if you connect it to Samson's C-que as I have, operation is even more confusing. My regular job is teaching audio and video production. While on paper this system looks good, in practice it's marginal. Perhaps the phrase you get what you pay for is appropriate.

Comments about Samson C-control Control Room Matrix:

I used a C-control for some years, and it just stopped working recently. So I bought a new one knowing it probably had some issues as did the old one. Basically the old one had very noisy pots, even when new. It's the same noisy pots with this new one. Also activating the mono channel dims the signal more than 20dB, which isn't supposed to happen, according to the manual.(contacting support) But for under $[$]it's still a good buy.

Comments about Samson C-control Control Room Matrix:

All of the things said by others here about this unit are true; the C-Control is very useful, handy and convenient. We have three of them already. My son uses his in his recording setup. I actually use mine as an audio junction box, running multiple computers, tablets, mp3 players, etc, to a single set of powered speakers with subwoofer. It's perfect for this. BUT--after some period of sustained use, it appears that the unit begins to deteriorate; the level controls begin to display high input levels *when nothing is playing*. Button lights turn on by themselves, even when they aren't pressed. And last night, my unit began making very loud hissing noises, prompting me to have to buy my fourth unit. (I already replaced my son's unit for the same reason.) My guess is that the heat buildup mentioned by others eventually "burns up" the components inside. (Two of our units run 24/7.) This doesn't happen right away, but over time and with heavy use, I've seen it in two out of three units so far.

I love using the C-Control; I love its functionality, but this is a problem, and is something of which buyers should be aware. Still, I'm purchasing another; I also have the Behringer Mon800 mentioned by someone else, but this is less noisy, and therefore more useful.

Comments about Samson C-control Control Room Matrix:

This is an all around great unit for speaker component control. It is flexible giving you the chance to monitor several speakers and sources and an added plus over other control centers it features a sub out. I use it for a/b between passive speakers and powered speakers in my home studio. It also allows me to monitor my input board,CD player, and my computer mixes. This is a very handiy tool and adds very little color if any to your final sound.

I use this product to channel 2 sets of speakers, small Yamaha mixing speakers and Event 20s. I also use it to communicate with anyone wearing earphones.
          It works, it's relatively inexpensive.
          No complaints.

Firstly, you have to look at just how many good features this device has at the price to know that this handy box isn't going to be built like a tank. I bought one maybe ten years ago and it just died. I got another one because it meets my needs at a reasonable cost. The only problem I had with the original was that if the volume is very low, the center would drift to the left. Caulk that up to inexpensive components. I love the unit! If this new one breaks, I'll get a third.

Comments about Samson C-control Control Room Matrix:

Everything is great about this product, sounds very good and fits well into a rack space, the problem is, it runs hot after being on for a while. Of course this doesn't jeopardize anything in terms of reliability, but I can't have a big iron running in my studio whenever my speakers are turned on... It just gets too hot too quick. Anyways, I guess I'll go back to Behringers Mon800, which is the same thing essentially, but with worse op amps, which causes some buzzing when connected to a computer sound card. And its plastic with cheap pot knobs... This Samson mixer feels a lot better, but wish it wasn't so hot.

Good mixer with lots of useful functions, although I only use it as a mixer for multiple sources into my studio monitors. Seems to have a overheating issue; I'll exchange for a new one and see if it's just the unit. I suppose its still usable when hot; just warms your room quite nicely.

This thing is great as a small rackmountable studio mixer for those who'd like to save space rather then get a Mackie Big Knob or something like that. The signal is way better than the competitor (Behringer MiniMON 800). The only thing is this thing get HOT! I mean REALLY HOT! Idk if i've got a faulty product, but its just like a furnace. I might return it and see if its just a faulty unit. But ofcourse, there's virtually nothing else out in the market with such functionality and price. Good buy :)

I recently purchased C-control to route signals from my DAW, CD player, mp3 player and laptop to my HR624 monitors. I went with this model to save desk space (vs mackie big knob or a mixer) and it sits neatly on a component stack on my workstation. It was easy to hook up and the labels and layout make it simple to operate without reading the manual. I've also started using the headphone out instead of the out from my DAW. Only draw back is no brackets are included to rack mount it.

I have been using a cheap passive speaker switch and for awhile, and one channel or another kept cutting out. It was getting to the point where I was embarrassing myself in front of clients, and decided I had to do something. Most of the options were in the many hundreds, up into the thousands. If the passive switch had worked, it would have met my needs, but I needed something more reliable. The C-Control Control Room Matrix fit the bill perfectly in both function and price point. It goes beyond, in that it adds a fairly beefy headphone amp, mute, dim, speaker balanancing, another pair of meters, talkback and slate. I haven't needed the various 2-track paths, because my board has pretty good slate and talkback, but the rest of the features have actually added functionality.

All in all, I am very pleased with it, and it seems like it will last a long time...

Comments about Samson C-control Control Room Matrix:
