Comments about Ilford HP5 Plus 5x7" 25 Sheets Black & White Print Film (ISO-400):

Need the extra speed for filters and small F-stop outside and in the studio. Very consistent. I like it better than the FP4. Processing in HC110 or Xtol. Xtol gives great results and a little more ISO. I'm shooting it in 5X7 format.

Comments about Ilford HP5 Plus 5x7" 25 Sheets Black & White Print Film (ISO-400):

I used this for historical documentation (HABS/HAER) in both flat and high contrast light, from pre-dawn through high noon light, and it responds well in all situations. Would love to see it in 50 sheet boxes here, but other than that I'm satisfied.

Comments about Ilford HP5 Plus 5x7" 25 Sheets Black & White Print Film (ISO-400):

In my photo course, I start by having students discover that they can make good images with almost no technology. They shoot with a pinhole camera on 5x7 film, which is a great size to contact print. It's big enough to yield a nice image scale, but doesn't require a huge camera as would 8x10, and fits my limited supply budget. HP5 is fast enough to keep the exposure time reasonable, and it's pretty forgiving in latitude (which is very helpful for their manually estimated and timed exposures). The size also fits our film developing tanks, and the emulsion is tough enough that my students don't have to be super careful to avoid scratching.
