Mostly used for wildlife and outdoors. I have gotten excellent results with this lense and photos of the moon on my F4, F100 & D70, I usually use around 1/500 fro a shutter as the lense is fixed a F8 at 600mm. Beyond this focal length I find the lense suffers from a color cast of the multicoating on the lense. Very narrow depth of field at 600mm. I photographed some snowmobile races a few years ago and got incredible shots over a 1/2 mile away with the sleds going off jumps and the likes. Skiiers on the upper part of Killington come alive and are HUGE. This is one serious close up lense for the $$

The product is affordable product with good quality.I used the telephoto with Nikon D5100 with or without X2 magnification lens. the picture is fair. However, it is heavey and needs a tripod to control it. The shipping to Egypt is exellant.

LENS IS HEAVY, BUT I USE A WEIGHT IN A SMALL CANVAS BAG SLUNG OVER THE FRONT PART OF LENS. MAY NOT LOOK PRETTY, BUT MAKES LOCKING ON TO FOCUS EASY. REMOTE RELEASE A MUST.

The focus ring range is too small - feels like it was initially designed for an autofocus lens.
Other than that, I have no objections.

I was able to get a few photos of some bald eagles but nothing that I would print, very poor quality lens. I loved the zoom range. Great for amature photographers or someone that wouldn't want to print a photo maybe just post online. [...]

I use this lens for almost all of my wildlife photography. I use it with a very sturdy tripod and have had excellent results!
It's better when lighting is better.... images look too dark on cloudy days, of course.
But all, in all, I highly recommend it to wildlife photographers!

this lens is great for the price. Manual focus and manual exposure is required but for the price it is worth it.

Comments about Phoenix 650-1300mm f/8-16 Manual Focus Lens (T-Mount Required):
I bought this lens to use for birds that are sitting/standing quietly 500 to 1000 feet away, such as shorebirds, or birds on water, and that's what it's suited for. This lens has much better depth of field than I expected, but with such an extreme telephoto, depth of field is always a problem. There is a definite learning curve. Best procedure is to take multiple shots, focusing between each and choosing the best. I have been able to get crisp shots of dragonflies 15 feet away at the 1300mm end of its range. The hand focusing is actually a plus, because if you were to put this on auto focus, most cameras would just seek obsessively. I haven't noticed any fringing so far. The focus is smooth and fine-tuned. It is surprisingly easy to focus. The zoom is pretty stiff. For the money, it's a real steal.

I bought this lens to have a super-telephoto option. I wasn't expecting "top quality", but this "lens"... -if you can call it that- ... is ABSOLUTLEY HORRIBLE!!!The construction is as bad as a piece of junk can be! Optical quality is ZERO! The "zoom" operation is a joke!THIS IS A COMPLETE JUNK!!!Eventually, I've got a 2X teleconverter for my new Sigma 50-500mm OS, plus I can also put on an extra 1.4X teleconverter if I want to go "extreme", and still get MUCH-MUCH better results than with this ABSOLUTE JOKE OF A "LENS"![...] STAY THE HECK AWAY FROM THIS JUNK!!!

I found it very interesting. The only drawback is the weight. Very good for bird photography, especially in around a waterbody.
