After purchasing a 4th lens for my Sony A100, I found I could no longer cram all of my gear into my tiny Sony camera bag. An upgrade was needed, and after researching what was available I settled on the Canon 200EG. It's certainly big enough - I have the camera and 4 lenses in there and still have room for another couple of lenses (in the unlikely event that my wife lets me buy more lenses). As well as camera/lens space, it also has a pocket each side for filters, a strap each side for tripod type stuff, 3 tiny pockets inside for memory cards, and space in two zippered door pockets for chargers, cleaning gear etc. You could probably find a more sturdy case if price isn't so much an issue, but this bag is built quite well, is well padded, and is light enough for me to take on hikes. It's not 'check-in luggage' sturdy, but I'd bet if it fell off of a table my gear would be fine. The next closest thing I found was double that price.

A great price for a name-brand back-pack. Comfortable main shoulder harnesses; perhaps too many dangling straps (I removed 2 and plan on removing additional straps). Color is ok (though I would have preferred black or red).

Easy to move the compartments around for a custom fit. I wish that the top of the pack had more padding for the camera itself and it seems like there should be a cushion to protect the LCD (it's close to the zipper). All that money on a camera, want to be certain to protect it.

Lots of room for additional accessories. I have the T2i and standard lens, additional lens, flash, cords, cards, etc. with plenty of room to spare. When loaded, the pack seems heavier than a side bag. Would love this if it was a side/shoulder sling (again, too many straps). Perhaps it's made more for rough hiking, but padding doesn't seem appropriate for that. Never used the 2 straps across the chest (more dangling straps) and do we REALLY need 2 shoulder straps, a strap across your chest AND a strap across the waist?

Have found that the tripod/monopod straps under the bag(s) (also on the Canon T1i kit bag) make carrying through doorways and public places cumbersome, not to mention noisy when setting bags down . Full bag weight is on the only unprotected equipment (hope your not fond of that new monopod, because it will take a beating). I left mine home and removed the straps. Bag looks and feels cleaner.

Was hoping the bag was a bit smaller for run-and-go. Bag would be REALLY heavy if I purchase additional equipment.

Had no use for the outside cargo straps (maybe someone could put a rain poncho here)? Cell phone fits nicely in the side pocket and is easily accessible. Small pockets for SD are nice, but I like to keep mine in plastic protective sleeves (these won't fit), so they are pretty but not useful.

Top carrying handle is nice and I find myself using it frequently.

Would love the bag, if it had the camera in a separate, easily accessible compartment. If I unzip the bag from the top, I need to be careful not to unzip too far, as the equipment will fall out. You can avoid this by just setting bag down horizontally, but that isn't always easy or clean, especially in public places. Would be great to have the bottom and back water-resistant for such instances.

I know, a lot of griping, but for the price, it is a great bag. I would probably have preferred a $100 bag, but this fits the bill for the price. Can always use with our video camera equipment when I tire of this one.

Comments about Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG:

You can pack a lot of gear into this bag. At first when I opened it, I thought, "This bag is much smaller than I expected." But then, I realized just how much you could pack into it. Great strapping, comfortable fit, lots of useful pockets.

Comments about Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG:

I was thinking of getting a pelican case for my gear but figure I may be doing a lot of walking around so having something to carry on my back would be better. It's a decent size backpack and I managed to fit quite a bit of gear. It works and the price is cheaper than others. Just don't drop it off a cliff and it will last for a while.

I have a Canon 7D, Lens 17-270mm, 10-22mm, flash, etc. Worked great on a recent hike for me. I collapse one side and inserted a water bladder. I know, a bottle of water in with gear sounds dangerous, but it worked great for me.

Not a big fan of side pockets. Wish one would be able to hold water bottle.

This is exactly what I wanted and expected: a compact pack with enough room for the essentials. I don't mind the dark interior. The construction is good; rugged material; the zippers zip...etc.

And the price is a fraction of some other "systems" out there. I'll probably cover or remove the Canon logo...for the obvious reason.

It's a nice pack. I highly recommend it.

For the money, this bag just cannot be beat! It has space for everything you need (and then some), is complete customizable inside so you can pack your gear in tightly. The only concerns I have is that for my tripod, the straps really don't tighten enough to keep it from slipping a little bit, but I think a tripod carry case would rectify it. The other think that is just a tad bothersome is that you have to really lay the pack down in order to open it up so that your gear doesn't fall out. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of. This Nikon user is very please with this Canon bag!!

Comments about Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG:

This is a great bag for beginners like myself. I was able to fit all of this in it:

          Nikon D7100
          18-200 3.5
          50mm 1.4
          70-300 3.5
          600SB flash
          Sony Video Camera
          Gorillapod tripod
batteries, memory cards, grey card, filters, air rocket, etc

tons of room, but that's about as much as i can fit in it.

But again...it is smaller than what it looks like. Definitely not the size of a normal school backpack.

I bought this backpack to go with my Canon 7D, 70-300mm and 16-35mm lens. It is the perfect size. It fits under my seat on the airplane. I have had other bags that just were not right. This backpack still has room for my upcoming purchase (24-70mm) and fits all my filters, lens shades, battery charger and extra battery. It also has room for a snack and water bottle on the outside. It's a great little backpack with plenty of room.

The is the 2nd Deluxe Backpack 200 EG by Canon I have purchased. It is the perfect size for travel...camera body, flash, couple lenses, batteries all fit. It is lightweight. My ONLY complaint: the reason I am buying a 2nd one is that the zippers break requiring me to buy the new one.

Comments about Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG:

I do outdoor (wildlife/landscape) photography, and street photography. I have taken this bag out while shooting in bayous, woods, and mountains, with out a single issue. I have crawled into abandone buildings, shot weddings, and treked through many towns shooting and never any issues. I have shot from -27 to 105 degrees, and the bag protected my equipment. Of all the bags I have owned, this so far has been the best.

Comments about Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG:

I'm a professional fine art and nature photographer. I shoot primarily 6 X 7 medium format film and carry that big, heavy system in a very large backpack with wheels. I recently purchased a 24MP digital 1.5X crop sensor Nikon with 50-150mm f2.8 zoom for wildlife, with plans to add a 300mm f4, 1.4 TC and standard to wide zoom. I wanted a small bag that would hold all of this equipment, plus accessories, and still keep the whole thing to a small, compact, manageable size, which was a primary reason to go with the crop sensor digital. I did a lot of research and this bag fits my needs better than anything else I could find, by any manufacturer. Because I don't like to advertise that I have camera equipment in the bag and because my new equipment is Nikon brand, I very carefully removed any Canon logos from the outside of the bag. I HIGHLY recommend this backpack to anyone who shoots any brand of digital SLR and has similar needs to mine.

Comments about Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG:

I needed a new camera bag that would hold my camera extra lens and all my other camera accessories, this worked out better than I thought.
I was able to put three cameras, extra lens, extra batteries, camera cleaning supplies exc. in this bag. This is a great camera backpack I wish that I had purchased it sooner instead of wasting money on other camera bags that I wasn't satisfied with. Buy one you want regret it.
