After purchasing a 4th lens for my Sony A100, I found I could no longer cram all of my gear into my tiny Sony camera bag. An upgrade was needed, and after researching what was available I settled on the Canon 200EG. It's certainly big enough - I have the camera and 4 lenses in there and still have room for another couple of lenses (in the unlikely event that my wife lets me buy more lenses). As well as camera/lens space, it also has a pocket each side for filters, a strap each side for tripod type stuff, 3 tiny pockets inside for memory cards, and space in two zippered door pockets for chargers, cleaning gear etc. You could probably find a more sturdy case if price isn't so much an issue, but this bag is built quite well, is well padded, and is light enough for me to take on hikes. It's not 'check-in luggage' sturdy, but I'd bet if it fell off of a table my gear would be fine. The next closest thing I found was double that price.

A great price for a name-brand back-pack. Comfortable main shoulder harnesses; perhaps too many dangling straps (I removed 2 and plan on removing additional straps). Color is ok (though I would have preferred black or red).

Easy to move the compartments around for a custom fit. I wish that the top of the pack had more padding for the camera itself and it seems like there should be a cushion to protect the LCD (it's close to the zipper). All that money on a camera, want to be certain to protect it.

Lots of room for additional accessories. I have the T2i and standard lens, additional lens, flash, cords, cards, etc. with plenty of room to spare. When loaded, the pack seems heavier than a side bag. Would love this if it was a side/shoulder sling (again, too many straps). Perhaps it's made more for rough hiking, but padding doesn't seem appropriate for that. Never used the 2 straps across the chest (more dangling straps) and do we REALLY need 2 shoulder straps, a strap across your chest AND a strap across the waist?

Have found that the tripod/monopod straps under the bag(s) (also on the Canon T1i kit bag) make carrying through doorways and public places cumbersome, not to mention noisy when setting bags down . Full bag weight is on the only unprotected equipment (hope your not fond of that new monopod, because it will take a beating). I left mine home and removed the straps. Bag looks and feels cleaner.

Was hoping the bag was a bit smaller for run-and-go. Bag would be REALLY heavy if I purchase additional equipment.

Had no use for the outside cargo straps (maybe someone could put a rain poncho here)? Cell phone fits nicely in the side pocket and is easily accessible. Small pockets for SD are nice, but I like to keep mine in plastic protective sleeves (these won't fit), so they are pretty but not useful.

Top carrying handle is nice and I find myself using it frequently.

Would love the bag, if it had the camera in a separate, easily accessible compartment. If I unzip the bag from the top, I need to be careful not to unzip too far, as the equipment will fall out. You can avoid this by just setting bag down horizontally, but that isn't always easy or clean, especially in public places. Would be great to have the bottom and back water-resistant for such instances.

I know, a lot of griping, but for the price, it is a great bag. I would probably have preferred a $100 bag, but this fits the bill for the price. Can always use with our video camera equipment when I tire of this one.

Comments about Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG:

I purchased this for my dad, a photo enthusiast with a Canon EOS 60D DSLR Camera Kit with Canon EF-S 18-135mm IS Lens. He also has a 50mm, a flash, and extra battery pack and a battery grip attached to his camera.

The bag fits all his gear with ample storage for personal items, water bottle, filters, disks, cards, extra batteries, etc. The dividers are a bit frustrating to work with as they have the old school velcro system which prohibits you from using the dividers from every angle. Therefore, the dividers do not fit his system perfectly. That bothers me but it's not my bag and it didn't seem to bother him. The other downfall was due to the fact that my dad likes to keep his tripod mount attached to the bottom of his camera with the lens attached. That makes the camera a bit taller than average and because he keeps the lens attached the camera needs to sit on its base. This in turn made zipping up the bag a bit snug. But it does close.

All in all, I am being swayed towards the backpack system for transporting. I love the idea of being hands-free while carrying my equipment.

Comments about Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG:

As an astrophotographer, my ideal situation is a great spot where I don't have to hike to find a place to set up. Where I can sit reasonably close to my car and keep my equipment safe from dust in my trunk. That's not always how it goes, though, so sometimes I end up having to hike a bit to find the best spot. That's where this bag comes in. It's not small, but a small bag wouldn't be able to hold all my lenses and peripherals. The fact that I can strap my tripod to it is a lifesaver. It is a lot of straps (one on each side and two on the bottom), but this is easily remedied by just cutting them off if you really care. The front pocket is great for storing miscellaneous stuff; I'm anticipating using it for my documents and wallet on an upcoming flight. The bag is also great for just using out of my trunk; I can just unzip the whole front and leaving it open so I can easily switch lenses without having to dig through $ worth of glass. The main compartment of this bag is great for protecting everything. My only complaint would be its slight lack of versatility. The two main pieces basically only fit in the configuration they come in by default. I'd really prefer to be able to set it up so my camera body isn't right at the top of the pack, at the most vulnerable spot. I remedied this by storing my camera without the lens, strapped into the middle section sideways, with my lens cleaning kit stored above it for a bit of extra padding. It's a fine situation, but it would be nice to be able to confidently store my camera with one of my primary lenses attached. All things considered, this bag was a purchase I'm glad to have made. The fact that it retails at about $ and I got it on sale here for about $ was also really nice.

This is an excellent camera rucksack. It is fairly basic and non-fussy but it is very well made and stands up well to lots of abuse. I have had one for several years and it has been used very heavily while traveling all over the U.S. and Europe. The internal partitions are easy to remove and position anywhere. The bag does not have a rain cover, but that's about the only thing missing from an otherwise excellent piece of kit.

Comments about Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG:

I'll start by saying that this camera bag is very affordable. This is a huge selling point when I see what some of them go for. The chest and gut straps really help take the weight off your shoulders. Ok, let's get to it. Things I don't like or wish were different:1. The two straps on the bottom for hauling a tripod could be a few inches longer. The webbing is a bit tough to get sin he'd down nice and tight easily, but it can be done. My Globetrotter tripod fits in it nicely. I think some sort of contraption on the sides to keep the tripod from sliding out the sides of the two straps would be nice. I may modify them for my use. It may be perfect for your though.2. No little pockets for a pen, market, or lens pens.3. The side pockets can't really hold a water bottle. I don't think they're designed to, but it would be nice to have a pocket for that. Again, I didn't pay much for the bag, so it is really not a big deal.4. Here is a big one. This bag feels like it's designed for smaller DSLRs. The top of the bag slims down just enough that the camera body has a bit of a herd time fitting in without putting a little load on the zipper. I have a D7100 with the battery grip. Evidently it's slightly narrower than I is tall. If I put the camera in sideways it fits. It just fits, but fits. So, although I may have to pocket my water bottles or have a clip on water bottle, not have a specific place for a pen, and the tripod straps are finicky I would buy it again.

Comments about Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG:

I was looking for a bag to hold two bodies and several lenses but after buying this bag I have decided to purchase a second one for the second body. The bag is big enough for all the gear with the first body but not big that having to bags is a problem.

I recommend this product highly to who ever want the ease of carry their equipment around. My old bag I was also sore after going out for the day, however this bag balances the weight so you are not sore after a day hiking in the woods with your gear.

Comments about Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG:

I carry a Canon 5D with a 28-200mm lens attached, a ultra-wide 16-35mm lens, 430EX flash, lens filters, cleaning kit, shutter release and computer connect cables, and misc. other equipment. I find that this bag has plenty of room for my equipment and for future lens purchases and/or second body. It's easy to access all of the well-padded compartments and I feel my equipment is secure in transit. The backpack is lightweight yet durable (I shoot outdoors quite often). I do wish the outer side pouches were a bit more secure, but other than that, I love this bag. It's offered at a great price and I would definitely recommend it to anyone, from the avid amateur to the semi-professional.
