I bought a couple of these to use as end caps for a "densepak" I made of my 77mm circular filters.
They work pretty well on one end but are a wee bit loose on the other end. I am going to purchase a 77mm end cap to try. My filters are much easier to pack, and will slip into a pocket now without worrying about scratching them, and I no longer pack a big filter wallet in my camera bag!

Devil's in the details. I don't get why B+W can't make a decent cap for their filters. I got one and it has a few major problems. 1. It falls off way too easily. A bit more oomph to the sides would be nice. 2. It flexes too easily, probably why it falls, so if the cap gets pushed inward, it'll hit the front surface of your filter. If the inside isn't pristine you're stuck cleaning. The fact that they give you this with a two hundred dollar filter is a bit much. I'd expect ever so slightly more from a cap.

Comments about B+W 80mm Push-on Lens Cap:
Bought this cap to use with a slim filter that wouldn't take a regular cap. It is useless. It is made of such a soft material that after a handful of times of putting it on and taking it off it stretches out. If tried placing medical tape on the inside rim so that it will fit snugly again, but it just continues to stretch out. Finally, don't put your lens cap down in your bag, the filter is so bendable that it bends right into the filter and scratches the filter when I walk.

Comments about B+W 80mm Push-on Lens Cap:
Bought this to use to cover a Tiffen 77mm Ultra Slim polarizer. This is the polarizer that is for super wide angle lenses and does not have threads for a lens cap. The B+W cap is a perfect fit, just snug enough, not too tight, not too loose. I use a tether just in case, but have not had it come off yet.

Comments about B+W 80mm Push-on Lens Cap:
I use this cap with my 24mm Canon F1.4L and an ultra slim UV filter. For this wide angle lens, filter with normal depth will cause visible black corners in the picture, so I have to use ultra thin filters, unfortunately, those slim filters does not come with front thread and won't fit any regular lens cap. This 80mm push-on cap exactly solved this problem.

Comments about B+W 80mm Push-on Lens Cap:
It would be a good cap for in the studio to keep the filter covered but it falls off very easily. It can easily fall off when shooting outdoors, in a stream for instance, and there goes your cap down stream.

Comments about B+W 80mm Push-on Lens Cap:
B+W slim filter is beautiful, but the lens cap is not very secure. I lost the first one with in the first hour. I ordered 3 more just in case I need a replacement on my Paris trip.
I would have chosen another filter if I had known the regular 77mm lens cap did not fit.

This model lens cap does not stay on a 10-22 Canon zoom with a B&W 77mm slim filter. Have tried two different caps (same model -- note that is a Schnieder(sp?); same results from day 1. It falls off.

Comments about B+W 80mm Push-on Lens Cap:
I have multiple 77mm slim, non-slim, old, new (F-Pro) B+W filters. This lens cap listed as "Push-on Lens Cap for 77mm Slim Filter" is completely useless for all of these filters as it is too big. I have bought multiple of these 77mm B+W caps hoping one of them would fit. They are all too loose on all types of 77mm B+W filters. This lens cap is meant for 80mm diameter and hence just falls off.

Comments about B+W 80mm Push-on Lens Cap:
As with most push-on lens caps these are sufficient, but being made of relatively soft plastic they can warp and not grip the lens / filter very well. They are inexpensive so replacement isn't an issue.
Just keep your eyes out to make sure it's not been knocked off or has stopped holding to the slim filter(s).

It covers the lens and fits the correct filter size. I mistakenly purchased a slim filter rather than a normal sized filter and am not stuck replacing the lens cap approximately 2-3 times a year due to losses for various reasons. Purchasing a normal sized filter soon though to alleviate the problem.

A lens cap is a lens cap, right? WRONG. The thin sides of this lens cap fail to secure it to the lens. It easily falls off in a camera bag. Might be ok for keeping the dust off in a studio, but don't think about taking it to the field.
