Comments about Bushnell 7-15x25 Powerview Zoom Binocular:

If you are looking for a pair of binoculars that are inexpensive yet lightweight and powerful I highly recommend the Powerview Zoom by Bushnell. One of the reasons I purchased this item was when I go to concerts and other events. I wanted something that is not bulky and this product fits the bill. The zoom range is impressive - 7 x 15 times magnification which should be more than adequate for most people. I recently attended a concert and sat in the balcony. The Bushnell Powerview allowed me to see the artists close- up. I highly recommend this product.

Comments about Bushnell 7-15x25 Powerview Zoom Binocular:

I bought these binoculars as a replacement for a set of zoom binoculars that I got in the 1970's, and which were broken while I was moving. The quality of the optics in the Bushnell 7-15x25 Powerview Zoom binocular is very good, but they are difficult to focus, so for me they are frustrating to use.

The focus is adjusted by using a central focusing wheel, and it is difficult to get a sharp image whether one has the binoculars set at low or high power.

Also, the instruction manual says that the user should focus the binoculars while they are at their highest power setting to "reduce or eliminate the need for focus readjustment when zooming between high and low powers." I tried this and the binoculars did remain focused when I changed the zoom level from high to low power, but they did not remain in focus when I zoomed back from low power to high power.

I also want to mention that the zoom mechanism itself does not operate smoothly - it sticks at several points as I move the lever up and down, and the placement of the zoom lever makes it difficult to run it completely from its minimum to maximum levels.

In addition to this, the maximum interpupillary distance (the distance between one's eyes) is a bit small in my opinion, 2 7/8 inches. This distance fits me, a woman, but I think that someone with a wider face may have a problem with them.

Had I tried these binoculars at a local store, I would not have bought them because of the way the zoom lever sticks, because of how difficult it is to get them focused, and the fact that they will not remain in focus when the zoom lever is used. I did not have these types of problems with my old set of binoculars, so I know that these problems reflect poor workmanship (they were made in China). I will keep them because I do not have another set of binoculars, but I intend to look for a better made set.

We love to watch the birds & wildlife in our backyard along with the water fowl on our lake. Great clarity and good field of view. Also handy to have the zoom feature when needed. A lot of binocular in a small package.
