Comments about Smith-Victor K78 1850W Professional Portrait Kit (120V AC):
I have a small video production company, and we were super excited for our first light kit! Upon first using it we saw it's obvious plusses and some minuses.
The stands are nice and heavy, these things should be able to take a licking and keep on ticking. The 1k lamp has barn doors which is really nice. The other two do not. I was able to get some gel in front of the light, but it is a hassle. The soft box only fits on the 600w lamps, which is not ideal, and it is a pain to assemble. But it works. We haven't operated the boom arm yet, but that should be pretty cool. There is an extra space in the kit box so if you add a light to this setup you won't need another box. Plus the extra storage space on top of the kit box is great for storing reflectors, stingers, c47s, etc. On yeah, plus the kit box rolls, so anyone can drag it around.
Overall a pretty good kit, especially for the price! It won't solve every lighting situation you throw at it, but it can do alot.

Amazing lights with great wattage. Has a great diffuser for softening the light. The strong durable stands and long cords are great to have. The case is very heavy so I am buying a bag for the stands and a small case for the light heads.

This kit provides all the light I need for studio work! The mini-boom helps for overhead shots of tabletop setups and other smaller scale shots. The 765-UM provides more controlled light when necessary. This is a great kit for starters and those who shoot in studio with continuous lighting.
