Video Innovators ES-800SP Extended Shoulder Rest - for S-800 Super Pro Shoulder Support
The XSB is designed to provide extra support for the S-800 Super Pro Shoulder Rest, allowing the shooter to have one free hand and affording smoother shooting. It quickly attaches to the bottom of the shoulder rest as shown. The padded end piece then rests on the lower chest, providing the added stability. It has three adjustment points allowing for a custom fit.

This extension support helps take the weight off when shooting with a camcorder. Not yet sure how comfortable it will be after several hours or more but it is almost a necessary part for the S-800 Super Pro. I still might do some modifications to the shoulder support itself. Overall worth the 30 or 40 extra.

Does not secure very well (wobbles and requires constant re-tightenting, but definitely helps assist in dealing with the weight of a camera held for longer periods of time. Breathing also becomes an issue as chest movement affects camera stability. I would not discourage anyone from buying though, for it is a good add for such a low price.

This Extended shoulder rest for the S-800 is a welcome addition to the product. It helps support the camera further and gives less weight to your shoulder making fatigue reduce considerably. It is well designed with good points of articulation, although a couple more size adjusting knobs may help to get the perfect setup. The padding at the bottom is also very comfortable. This product works very well and I believe it is a vital addition to the S-800.

I purchased the ES-800SP for use with my new S-800 Super Pro Shoulder Support. Works as intended. However, the anti-rotation u-bracket (not shown in the catalog picture)does not provide a precise fit, so the support may exhibit some movemement when in-place against your body (even though the support locking nut is tight). The body pad could be larger, too.

I use the ES-800SP with the S-800 Shoulder Brace on my Canon XH-A1 camera, and it works great. Shooting sports mostly, the ES-800SP is a great way to steady my shots, even at full zoom, and it cuts down on the fatigue of holding the camera for long periods of time.
