Comments about LRM-1500 Laser Rangefinder (Black):

Durable and excellent quality. I use the product to determine distances on raw sites prior to real estate and golf course development.

It is significantly larger than range finders dedicated to golf

Comments about LRM-1500 Laser Rangefinder (Camouflage):

I purchased this rangefinder for use in shooting applications up to and beyond 1000 yards. I live in a city, and I haven't yet taken the time to go out in the country and measure its longer range results against known measured distances, but I have done so on distances up to about 600 yards. It performs well. It helps immensely to use a monopod to hold the tool steady while taking a reading, and I have noticed that as the battery begins to die, the distances that it reads become inaccurate by as much as 30 percent. Put a new battery in it, and you're back in business. Also, it's difficult to gain a reading on something small from a decent distance, like a no passing zone sign from about 600 yards. That's only because of the 7x magnification. The crosshairs in the viewfinder are not as narrow, clean and crisp as they are in my riflescope, but that's to be expected.I've used it for golf, but it's difficult to gain an accurate reading on greens and other surfaces that are sloping away, and the crosshairs in the viewfinder are not precise enough to differentiate where the reading is being taken (front vs. back of the green). It works great to identify distances to hazards like trees, though.

Comments about LRM-1500 Laser Rangefinder (Black):

I used it on the field and it handles well, and seems to be well built. It fits well in the hand and the buttons are easy to reach. The options are easily accessible and selectable, and I specially liked being able to change the target sight (crosshair or square). The square is specially useful for targets at longer ranges.
I've been able to get ranges up to 1000m (1093 yards), but only with targes with high reflectivity. As I use it on a boat, it's difficult to get reading from far targets due to the rocking of the boat. It must be kept steady on the target to get a good reading. Closer targets are easy, far away ones need a steady hand.
I used it side by side with a Bushnell 1200, looking at the same targets and the Bushnell is quicker acquiring targets from 300m to 800m. In closer ones, both get almost instant readings. But the Bushnell got ranges only up to 800m, while the Newcon went up to 1000m, even if I needed to press the range button 3 or 4 times. Curiously they differed in 4m in all closer readings, probably some calibration problem.
        Overall its a good equipment.
